The present invention provides an autostereoscopic display device including: a display device; and a liquid crystal lens cell arranged on the display device, the liquid crystal lens cell including: a first substrate; a second substrate; a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate; a first electrode arranged on the first substrate on the side of the liquid crystal layer; and a second electrode arranged on the second substrate on the side of the liquid crystal layer, in which the liquid crystal lens cell has a water-absorption layer arranged on at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate on the side of the liquid crystal layer.

Autostereoscopic display device

An illuminating device includes: a light source; a light guide plate which converts light emitted from the light source into a surface light ray and emits the surface light ray through a front surface of the light guide plate; and an optical sheet which changes a propagation direction of the surface light ray emitted from the light guide plate. The light source is arranged in opposition to one end surface of the light guide plate. A polarization state converting structure to convert a polarization state of the light propagating through the light guide plate is provided in a rear surface of the light guide plate. The polarization state converting structure contains an inclination plane having a ridge line extending in a direction perpendicular to the extension direction of the one end surface.

Illuminating device and liquid crystal display device

In a liquid crystal display device, a first substrate adjacent to a liquid crystal display panel is subjected to rubbing in a first direction that is the same as a polarization axis direction of light emitted from the liquid crystal display panel, and a second substrate that interposes a liquid crystal layer with the first substrate is subjected to rubbing in a second direction at a right angle with the first direction. The second direction is made the same as the polarization axis direction of polarized sunglasses to allow visual recognition of the image using the polarized sunglasses. Electrode patterns formed by alternately providing narrow and wide electrodes are arranged on the upper and lower substrates in a direction at a right angle with each other so that the rubbing directions on the upper and lower substrates form a right angle to ensure stable 3D display.

Liquid crystal display device

In order to provide a display device capable of improving the display quality at the time of 2D display and 3D display, the present invention provides a display device that includes: a display panel that displays an image; and a liquid crystal lens panel that is arranged on the display surface side of the display panel, controls a refractive index in a cylindrical lens manner to form parallax barriers, and switches 2D display and 3D display, and the liquid crystal lens panel includes: a first transparent substrate that is arranged on the display panel side; a second transparent substrate that is arranged to face the first substrate through a liquid crystal layer; and a first polarizing plate that is formed on the display surface side of the second transparent substrate to control a polarization direction of light transmitting through the liquid crystal lens panel.

Display device

A liquid crystal display device is configured to form a three dimensional image on the vertical view by applying a first voltage between a narrow electrode on the first substrate and a wide electrode on the second substrate, and a second voltage lower than the first voltage between the wide electrode on the first substrate and the wide electrode on the second substrate, and to form a three dimensional image on the horizontal view by applying the first voltage between the wide electrode on the first substrate and a narrow electrode on the second substrate, and the second voltage between the wide electrode on the first substrate and the wide electrode on the second substrate so as to reduce generation of domain in the horizontal electric field.

It is an object to reduce 3D moir&#xe9; and provide a higher-quality three dimensional image display device. The three dimensional image display device includes a display panel on which rows of pixels for right eye and rows of pixels for left eye are alternately arranged in a lateral direction, the display panel planarly displaying an image for three dimensional display, and a parallax forming liquid crystal panel for forming a parallax in an image for right eye and an image for left eye displayed by the display panel. Lateral direction center positions, which are vertexes of luminance in the lateral direction of an image for right eye and an image for left eye, where the image for three dimensional display is visually sensed through the parallax forming liquid crystal panel, are respectively positions shifted in the lateral direction in different positions in the screen longitudinal direction.

Three dimensional image display device

An image display device includes: a display panel having a plurality of pixels disposed in a matrix; and a liquid crystal lens disposed on the side of a display surface of the display panel, wherein the pixels of the display panel are divided into a plurality of pixel groups each including two or more pixels, the liquid crystal lens forms, by application of an electric field, a lens array having a plurality of lens portions each corresponding to each of the pixel groups, the lens portion is configured to have a first area having a constant refractive index and a second area having a distribution of refractive index, the second area is disposed at a side portion of the lens portion, and the first area is disposed closer to the center than the second area.

Image display device and liquid crystal lens

Display device comprising a liquid crystal lens panel wherein liquid crystal material is driven in a twisted nematic mode on stripe electrodes

A display device is provided with: a first display panel for displaying an image; and a second display panel for forming a parallax by controlling a refractive index in a form of cylindrical lenses that run in a first direction and are aligned in a second direction, wherein the second display panel is provided with a first substrate having a first electrode and a second substrate having second electrodes, the first substrate and the second substrate face each other with a liquid crystal layer in between so as to provide a liquid crystal display panel, and a thickness of the liquid crystal layer is equal to or smaller than such a thickness that makes a rotational angle in a direction of a deflection angle of liquid crystal directors in a center portion of the liquid crystal layer in the direction of the thickness be 90&#xb0; during three-dimensional display.

There is provided a technology capable of reducing crosstalk at the time of 3D display in a display device using a liquid crystal lens that forms cylindrical lenses by controlling a voltage applied to a liquid crystal panel. The display device includes a liquid crystal display panel which includes a substrate including a plurality of strip-shaped transparent electrodes and a plurality of strip-shaped light shielding portions overlapping with the electrodes. The display device displays an image by switching a two-dimensional display and a three-dimensional display, and the cylindrical lenses making up a parallax barrier, are formed by controlling a refraction index of a liquid crystal layer.

In a three-dimensional display device using a liquid crystal lens, a planer electrode is formed on an upper substrate of the liquid crystal lens and strip-like electrodes are formed on a lower substrate of the liquid crystal display lens. The distance between the upper and lower substrates is provided by a bead. At this time, if the bead is present on the strip-like electrode, the lens formed thereon is distorted. In order to prevent this, a bump is formed to cover the strip-like electrode. The distance between the bump and the upper substrate is small, so that the bead is pushed out of the upper part of the strip-like electrode, preventing the lens from being distorted. As a result, it is possible to prevent the crosstalk caused by the lens distortion due to the presence of the bead on the strip-like electrode.

An object of the present invention is to provide an organic light emitting element where light emitted from the light emitting layer is efficiently emitted to the outside, and thus, the efficiency of light emission is higher. The present invention provides an organic light emitting element where a first reflective electrode, an electron transport layer, a light emitting layer, a hole transport layer, a hole injection layerand a second transparent electrodeare formed on a glass substrate, and a light extraction layerhaving an average index of refraction of 1.4 made of titanium particles having an index of refraction of 2.6 and an average particle diameter of 150 nm and silica sol.

Organic light emitting element

The backlight has an anisotropic diffusion sheet disposed between the reflective polarizing plate and the optical path converter. The anisotropic diffusion sheet includes a refractive index anisotropic diffusion sheet stretched in an absorption axis direction in which a concave-convex portion is formed on a surface of the reflective polarized plate, and an isotropic material part laminated on a surface of the concave-convex part. The isotropic material part has an isotropic reflective index. The refractive index of the isotropic material part is the same as the refractive index in the transmission axis direction perpendicular to a stretching direction of the refractive index anisotropic sheet.
