Disclosed is a flame retardant composition having excellent flame retardancy and processability, providing a flame-retardant synthetic resin composition including this flame retardant composition and having excellent flame retardancy and processability. Specifically, the following components are used in combination: as component (A), 20 to 50 parts by mass of at least one type of melamine salt selected from the group consisting of melamine orthophosphate, melamine pyrophosphate, and melamine polyphosphate; as component (B), 50 to 80 parts by mass of at least one type of piperazine salt selected from the group consisting of piperazine orthophosphate, piperazine pyrophosphate, and piperazine polyphosphate (the total of component (A) and component (B) is 100 parts by mass); and as component (C), 0.01 to 20.0 parts by mass of a bicyclophosphoric ester compound represented by the following general formula (1). The details of formula (1) are as described in the Description.

Flame retardant composition and flame-retardant synthetic resin composition

Provided are a flame-retardant polyolefin resin composition with high flame retardancy, particularly sufficient flame retardancy to meet the UL94 5VA standard and a molded article with high flame retardancy, particularly sufficient flame retardancy to meet the UL94 5VA standard. The composition includes 100 parts by mass of a polyolefin resin, (A) 10 to 60 parts by mass of at least one melamine salt selected from the group consisting of melamine orthophosphate, melamine pyrophosphate, and melamine polyphosphate, (B) 15 to 90 parts by mass of at least one piperazine salt selected from the group consisting of piperazine orthophosphate, piperazine pyrophosphate, and piperazine polyphosphate, and (C) 10 to 140 parts by mass of glass fiber.

Flame-retardant polyolefin resin composition

A disclosed flame-retardant polypropylene composition contains: a random copolymer polypropylene as a synthetic resin component; and a component (A) and a component (B) as flame retardant components, the component (A) being one or more melamine salts selected from the group consisting of melamine orthophosphate, melamine pyrophosphate, and melamine polyphosphate, and the component (B) being one or more piperazine salts selected from the group consisting of piperazine orthophosphate, piperazine pyrophosphate, and piperazine polyphosphate. Furthermore, as a flame retardant component, the flame-retardant polypropylene composition preferably further contains zinc oxide as a component (C). Also, as a synthetic resin component, the flame-retardant polypropylene composition preferably further contains a styrene-based thermoplastic elastomer.

Flame-retardant polypropylene composition

The flame-retardant thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer composition includes a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer, (A) a (poly)phosphate compound represented by general formula (1), (B) a (poly)phosphate compound represented by general formula (3), and (C) silicon dioxide. The composition preferably contains (D) zinc oxide. Symbols n, X, and p in formula (1) and r, Y, and q in formula (3) are as defined in the description.
