The present invention provides a sorting device and a sorting method for sorting a magnetically attractable substance and a non-magnetically attractable substance from a sorting target using a high gradient magnetic separator.

Sorting device and sorting method

To provide matrix for magnetic separator capable of sorting magnetic and non-magnetic particles highly accurately and efficiently and enabling previous simulative recognition of correct magnetic force distribution in matrix space, and magnetic separator. Matrix for magnetic separator of present invention includes: entirely approximately wavelike plate-shaped magnetic walls each having orderly structure of wave-shaped bent sections continuously repeatedly formed in wave advancing direction and each having wave height h of &#x2266;1 mm and approximately inverted V- or U-shape; and entirely approximately box-shaped housing part housing magnetic walls and having in opposite surfaces, introducing and discharging parts through which sorting target fluid containing magnetically-attractable substance magnetically-attractable to magnetic walls is passed thereinto/therefrom, magnetic walls arranged in juxtaposition such that convex shapes of wave-shaped bent sections in one magnetic wall face concave shapes thereof in another magnetic wall adjacent to one magnetic wall with constant interval therebetween.

Matrix for magnetic separator and magnetic separator

An airflow separator of the present invention includes: a first column into which gas is introduced from a lower portion and inside which a sample is made to flow; a heavy particle recovery device provided at the lower portion of the first column; and a control device configured to control a wind speed by an amount of gas to be introduced into the first column. The first column has a weak rotational airflow generation mechanism to smooth wind speed distribution in a cross-section of a tube of the first column by making it substantially W-shaped from a portion of a wall of the tube to the center of the tube to another portion of the wall of the tube. The heavy particle recovery device recovers from the sample, heavy particles falling down. The airflow separator recovers emission gas, intermediate and light particles from an upper portion of the first column.

Particle sorting machine

A weak magnetic force magnetic separator, including: a belt conveyor conveying separation target particles; and a suspended magnet unit provided at a distance above the belt conveyor and configured to magnetically attract, with a uniform, weak magnetic force, the separation target particles conveyed over a belt. With a length of the magnet unit in its longer direction being greater than a belt width of the belt, and with the magnet unit placed such that its longer direction is aligned with the belt width direction and its both ends overhang the belt width, and such that a distance from the surface of the belt is constant across its longer direction, magnetic flux density variations in the belt width direction over the belt surface facing the magnet unit are 10% or less within a weak magnetic force range of from over 0 to 700 gauss.

Magnetic separator

A particle separation apparatus includes a base, a disc-shaped container rotatable on the base at a constant speed and a suspension supply tank for separating in the container particles contained in a suspension supplied from the tank according to specific gravities or particle diameters of the particles. The container includes a plurality of centrifugation vessels disposed around a rotation axis and in a circumferential direction of the container, particle supply cylinders disposed at a center of the container for discharging the particles in the suspension toward the vessels and a lid, and has a structure controllable in rotational speed to adjust a distance of relative movement in a rotation direction between large-gravity particles and small-gravity particles. The vessels are individually in a form of dents independent of one another and are each formed of an inner circumferential wall and a bottom wall. Each of the cylinders has means for discharging the particles in the suspension toward a centrifugation vessel filled beforehand with water.

Particle separation apparatus and method

A device for capturing negatively or positively charged fine particles dispersed in a liquid includes a rotor having an outer surface charged in a polarity opposite to the particles and arranged to be rotated. By rotating the rotor while being maintained in contact with the liquid, the particles are captured on the outer surface thereof. Control of the rotational speed of the rotor makes it possible to selectively separate particles with desired particle sizes.
