A conveyance device includes an image-forming drum () which fixes a rear surface (P) of a sheet (P) and conveys the sheet along an arc-shaped path at a transfer position (), a chain gripper which includes a gripper (D) which is disposed on the downstream side of the image-forming drum in a conveyance direction and holds a leading end portion of the sheet, conveys the sheet along the arc-shaped path at the transfer position, and is disposed at a position at which a portion of the path leads to the image-forming drum side from the transfer position, and a blower unit () which is disposed on the chain gripper side from the transfer position, blows air from the chain gripper side to the image-forming drum side on the downstream side of the transfer position in the conveyance direction, and blows air toward the sheet conveyed by the chain gripper.

Conveyance device, image-forming device, and medium conveyance method

A paper floating detection apparatus is arranged at a conveyance path of a conveyance device which holds paper on a conveyance surface and conveys the paper in a conveyance direction while causing a surface of the paper to face a droplet ejection head. The detection apparatus includes: a light emission unit and a light reception unit arranged to face each other across the conveyance path, such that an optical path of detection light emitted from the light emission unit and received by the light reception unit is substantially perpendicular to the conveyance direction, floating up of the paper from the conveyance surface being detected by detecting that the conveyed paper has shielded the detection light; and an air flow diverting guide member which is arranged in a periphery of the optical path and configured to prevent inflow of air having a temperature differential sufficient to affect the optical path.

Paper floating detection apparatus, paper conveyance apparatus and image recording apparatus

A conveying body that can attract and peel-off a recording medium by a simple mechanism, and an image forming device using the conveying body are provided. One end portions of through-holes of a drum are blocked by a blocking member, and a suction member and a blowing-out member are provided at other end portions of the through-holes. Due to a suction pump being operated and suction force being generated within the through-holes via a suction port of the suction member, the suction force passes through the through-holes and acts on long grooves of an outer peripheral surface of the drum, and a sheet can be attracted reliably to the outer peripheral surface of the drum. Further, because air is blown-out from the blowing-out member by operation of the suction pump, a leading end portion of a sheet can be reliably peeled-off from the outer peripheral surface of the drum.
