A power tool () includes a motor () having a stator () and a rotor (). The stator () includes front and rear insulators () respectively disposed forward and rearward of a stator core () in an axial direction thereof. At least six coils () are respectively wound on the stator () such that the coils () are wound through the front and rear insulators (). Winding wires () respectively electrically connect circumferentially-adjacent pairs of the coils (). A short circuiting device () short circuits respective pairs of windings () that are located diagonally or diametrically across from one another.

Power tool

A battery pack () includes an outer case (), which comprises an upper-part case () and a lower-part case () fixed to the upper-part case (), and a cell case (), which is housed in the outer case (). An engaging part () is provided on one of the upper-part case () and the cell case (). An engaged part (), with which the engaging part () engages, is provided on or in the other of the upper-part case () and the cell case ().

Battery pack

A battery pack () includes: an outer case (), which comprises an upper-part case () and a lower-part case () fixed to the upper-part case (); at least one battery cell (-); and a cell case (), which houses the battery cell(s) (-). A clearance (C-C) is provided between the lower-part case () and the entire lower surface of the cell case ().

A detachable DC power source includes: a reference surface extending in front-rear and left-right directions; support walls protruding upward from opposite ends of the reference surface and extending in the front-rear direction; battery-side rails protruding outward in the left-right direction from the upper ends of the pair of support walls and extending in the front-rear direction; and a first battery-side distinguishing region disposed between the support walls in the left-right direction and at a connection location between the reference surface and one of the support walls. A first battery-side distinguishing member is provided in the first battery-side distinguishing region and is directly connected to the one the support walls and to the reference surface. The detachable DC power source may be used to power an electrical device having a first device distinguishing part capable of receiving the first battery distinguishing member.

Electrical-device system and detachable DC power source

A power tool includes a motor and a controller in a power tool housing. A battery pack interface is defined on and/or in the power tool housing. A receptacle is defined on and/or in the power tool housing to removably accommodate a wireless communication adapter such that the wireless communication adapter is disposed entirely within a shell of the power tool and no portion of the wireless communication adapter extends beyond an outer contour of the power tool housing. At least one communication terminal is disposed within the receptacle and is electrically connectable to the wireless communication adapter. The controller outputs to the at least one communication terminal a signal indicating a charge level of a battery pack attached to the battery pack interface, a number of hours of operation of the power tool, a power tool overheated alert, and/or a battery pack overloaded alert.

Power tool system having receptacle for wireless communication adapter

A power tool includes a power tool housing accommodating a motor; a battery pack interface electrically connected to the motor and being configured to be physically and electrically connected to and disconnected from a power tool interface of a battery pack; and a wireless communicator configured to be attached to or detached from the power tool housing. The wireless communicator wirelessly transmits data between the power tool and an external device using radio waves. In addition, the power tool housing includes a receptacle opening configured to accommodate the wireless communicator within the power tool housing such that no part of the wireless communicator projects or protrudes beyond an outer surface or contour of the power tool housing.

A battery pack () includes: an outer case (); one or more battery cells (-); and a cell case (), which is housed in the outer case () and houses the battery cell(s) (-). The outer case () has: an upper surface (wall) (), in which a terminal-opening part () for exposing a terminal () is provided; a bottom wall (); and a plurality of side surfaces (walls) (-) extending upward from the bottom wall (). The battery cell(s) (-) is (are) disposed parallel to the bottom wall (). An opening (-) is provided in a specific side surface (), from among the plurality of side surfaces (-), that faces an end surface of the battery cell(s) (-) in a longitudinal direction.

A battery pack includes: a housing (); one or more battery cells () housed inside the housing; one or more seat surfaces () disposed inside the housing; a circuit board (), which is housed inside the housing and is mounted on the seat surface(s); and one or more terminals () electrically connected to the circuit board. One or more elastic sheets () surround(s) the perimeter(s) of the terminal(s) and is (are) interposed between the circuit board and the seat surface(s).

Battery

A power tool system includes a hand-held power tool having a power tool housing accommodating a motor, and a battery pack interface electrically connected to the motor within the power tool housing. A battery pack includes a battery pack housing accommodating at least one battery cell and a power tool interface electrically connected to the at least one battery cell within the battery pack housing. The power tool interface is configured to be physically and electrically connected to and disconnected from the battery pack interface of the power tool. A wireless communicator is attached to or accommodated within the battery pack housing. The wireless communicator is configured to wirelessly communicate with an external device using radio waves while the power tool interface of the battery pack is physically and electrically connected to the battery pack interface of the hand-held power tool.
