Provided is a footwear that excels in productivity and shape retaining property. Footwear is knitted seamlessly with a flat knitting machine having at least a pair of a front and a back needle bed and includes a base knit fabric portion having a mixed section knitted using a first knitting yarn and a second knitting yarn interwoven along the first knitting yarn. The first knitting yarn configuring the mixed section of the footwear is a knitting yarn that is not a heat-fusible yarn, and the second knitting yarn is a heat-fusible yarn having thermal adhesiveness and heat-shrinkable properties. The second knitting yarn preferably has a configuration including a core made from a material that contracts by heat, and a sheath made from a material having a lower fusing point than the core.

A three-dimension fabric by which a three-dimension fabric surface can be formed by supporting the fabric edges by a frame member and stretching the fabric, wherein the fabric per se, which constitutes the fabric surface, is provided with at least one heterogeneous portion that is different at least in yarn type and/or fabric structure type from the adjacent portion. Thus, the three-dimension fabric can be easily made into a construct of a desirable shape without using a frame having a complicated shape.

The present invention provides a method of knitting a double tubular knitted fabric in which an outer tubular section can be formed independent from an inner tubular section while knitting the inner and outer tubular sections simultaneously by a flat knitting machine. Each of the front knitted fabric parts of the inner and outer tubular sections is assigned to one of the front and back needle beds, and each of the back knitted fabric parts of the inner and outer tubular sections is assigned to the other needle beds. The knitting method uses at least two yarn feeders, where the inner tubular section is formed using a yarn from one yarn feeder and the outer tubular section is formed using a yarn from the other yarn feeder. In knitting the outer tubular section, return knitting is performed where a loop is formed subsequent to the loop formed in a going course in a returning course. The outer tubular section is formed in the tubular form by connecting the loops at the boundary of the returning part. In knitting the inner and outer tubular sections, the respective yarn feeders are moved such that the yarns for knitting the inner and outer tubular sections do not intersect.

The invention aims to knit knitwear in a substantially seamless manner, with the number of courses around the neck increased, so that when the knitwear is worn, a drape can be formed around the neck. In knitting zones extending from underarms to before shoulders, the front body and the back body split at both ends thereof are increased in knitting width so that a drape can be formed around the neck of the front body. The front body and the back body are knitted by a flechage knitting so that shoulder drops can be formed in their shoulder parts. Then, they are bound off at their front and back necklines and also joined together at their shoulder lines.
