An electrically-driven compressor is installed on an engine. Refrigerant is compressed with rotation of a rotating shaft in a compression unit. An electric motor is coupled to the rotating shaft and drives the compression unit through the rotating shaft. A housing accommodates the compression unit, the electric motor, and the motor drive circuit aligned in the listed order in the axial direction of the rotating shaft. The housing is internally provided with the discharge chamber through which the refrigerant compressed by the compression unit is discharged. A weight is attached to the housing and disposed in the discharge chamber in a manner that a resonance frequency of the electrically-driven compressor is shifted relative to a resonance frequency of the engine, the weight including a material having a specific gravity greater than a specific gravity of a constituent material of the housing.

An on-vehicle electric compressor for a vehicle includes a compression mechanism compressing a refrigerant, an electric motor driving the compression mechanism and a housing accommodating therein the compression mechanism and the electric motor. The on-vehicle electric compressor further includes a cover fixed to the housing, a motor driving circuit disposed between the housing and the cover and driving the electric motor, and a protecting member protecting the cover against an external force caused when the vehicle has a collision. The protecting member has a contact portion that is contactable with a receiving portion when the external force is applied to the protecting member, the receiving portion having a greater rigidity than the cover to receive the external force through the contact portion.

An electrically-driven compressor including a housing, an electric motor, a compression mechanism, a cover member, a motor drive circuit, and a sealing member is disclosed. The electric motor is accommodated in the housing. The compression mechanism is accommodated in the housing and operated by the electric motor. The cover member is attached to the housing. The housing and the cover member form an accommodation portion including an accommodation space therein. The motor drive circuit is accommodated in the accommodation space and drives the electric motor. The sealing member is arranged between the housing and the cover member to seal the accommodation space. The sealing member includes an elastic seal portion that comes into close contact with the housing and the cover member. A core sustains the shape of the seal portion in conformance with the circumferential edge of the accommodation space. The core is formed so that at least a circumferential edge part of the core is in conformance with the circumferential edge of the accommodation space. The seal portion is formed integrally with the circumferential edge part of the shape sustaining member by depositing rubber material thereon.

Electrically-driven compressor

An electric compressor includes a housing a compression mechanism, an electric motor and a motor driving circuit. The motor driving circuit includes a circuit board and an electronic component mounted on the circuit board. The electric compressor further includes a bus bar, a shield plate having a bolt hole and an intervening portion interposed between the bus bar and the shield plate. The bus bar, intervening portion and the shield plate are integrated by a resin member. A part of the intervening portion on a side thereof opposite from the shield plate and/or a part of the bus bar on a side thereof opposite from the shield plate is exposed without being covered with the resin member. A surface of the shield plate around the bolt hole on a side thereof opposite from the intervening portion is exposed without being covered with the resin member.

Electric compressor with component for blocking electromagnetic noise

An electric compressor has a hermetic terminal unit that is electrically connected to a motor side wire and a drive circuit side wire and inserted through a through hole formed through a separation wall separating a motor chamber and an accommodating chamber. The hermetic terminal unit has a first connecting terminal that is electrically connected to the motor side wire and elastically deformable, a second connecting terminal that is electrically connected to the drive circuit side wire and elastically deformable, and a conductive member that is fitted to the first connecting terminal and the second connecting terminal and electrically connects the first connecting terminal and the second connecting terminal. The first connecting terminal is elastically deformed and holds the motor side wire by a restoring force thereof. The second connecting terminal is elastically deformed and holds the drive circuit side wire by a restoring force thereof.

The reinforcing member extends toward the first surface or the second surface of the inverter substrate in the inverter box. The reinforcing member is not electrically connected to the inverter circuit.

A motor-driven compressor includes an electric motor driven by a motor driver, which includes a switching element that converts DC voltage from a battery to AC voltage. A control unit controls the switching operation of the switching element. A temperature detector detects the temperature of the switching element. The control unit suspends the switching operation of the switching element when the temperature detected by the temperature detector rises to a temperature threshold. The temperature threshold includes a first temperature threshold, corresponding to a withstand temperature of the switching element, and a second temperature threshold, which is higher than the first temperature threshold. The control unit switches the temperature threshold from the first temperature threshold to the second temperature threshold when the control unit activates a field weakening control that reduces counter electromotive force generated by the electric motor.

A motor-driven compressor includes an electric motor driven by a motor driver, which includes a switching element that converts DC voltage from a battery to AC voltage. A control unit controls the switching operation of the switching element. A temperature detector detects the temperature of the switching element. A voltage detector detects DC voltage applied to the switching element from the battery. The control unit suspends the switching operation of the switching element when the temperature detected by the temperature detector rises to a predetermined temperature threshold. The control unit also reduces counter electromotive force generated by the electric motor. The temperature threshold includes a first temperature threshold, corresponding to a withstand temperature of the switching element, and a second temperature threshold, which is higher than the first temperature threshold. The control unit switches the temperature threshold between the first and second temperature thresholds.

A motor-driven compressor includes a metal housing accommodating a compression unit and an electric motor and a cover coupled to the housing. The cover and the housing define an accommodation chamber that accommodates a motor driving circuit that drives the electric motor. The cover includes a metal shield that blocks electromagnetic noise, a resin outer insulator that is fixed to an outer side of the shield and includes an outer circumferential portion, and a resin inner insulator that is fixed to an inner side of the shield and includes an outer circumferential portion. The shield, the outer insulator, and the inner insulator are separate from one another and stacked together. The shield is held between the outer insulator and the inner insulator. The outer circumferential portion of the outer insulator is joined to the outer circumferential portion of the inner insulator.

Motor-driven compressor

A motor-driven compressor includes an electric motor driven by a motor driver, which includes a switching element that converts DC voltage from a battery to AC voltage. A temperature detector detects the temperature of the switching element. A voltage detector detects DC voltage applied to the switching element from the battery. A control unit suspends the switching operation of the switching element when the detected temperature rises to a temperature threshold. The control unit reduces counter electromotive force generated by the electric motor. The controller changes the temperature threshold such that the temperature threshold gradually increases from when the detected DC voltage is the highest voltage in the applicable voltage range of the battery to when the detected DC voltage is the lowest voltage in the applicable voltage range.

There is provided a vehicular electric compressor capable of discharging electric charges of a capacitor surely and quickly in the event of an impact. The vehicular electric compressor includes: a compressing unit; an electric motor for rotating the compressing unit; and a driving circuit for driving the electric motor. The driving circuit includes: a capacitor; a circuit board provided with an electrically discharging circuit for discharging electric charges accumulated in the capacitor; and a positive electrode interconnection and a negative electrode interconnection configured to electrically connect the capacitor and the circuit board to each other. The vehicular electric compressor further includes a conductive member configured to come into contact with the positive electrode interconnection and the negative electrode interconnection, which are connected to the capacitor, when the positive electrode interconnection and the negative electrode interconnection are moved upon application of external force to the capacitor.

An inverter assembly includes a substrate, a capacitor assembly and a coil, a varistor and a base. The base fixes and supports thereto the substrate, the capacitor assembly, the coil, and the varistor, and is detachably fixed together to a first housing with screws.

A mounting structure has a base member, a mounted member and a plurality of C-shaped retainer rings. The base member has an opening. The mounted member is fitted to the opening. The plurality of C-shaped retainer rings is fitted to the base member for preventing the mounted member from moving away from the base member.

Mounting structure and motor compressor having the same

A heat-insulating mechanism in a compressor which introduces refrigerant gas from a suction pressure region to a compression chamber and discharges the refrigerant gas from the compression chamber to a discharge pressure region has a circular passage, a communication passage, a cylindrical member and a passage heat-insulating member. The circular passage, which is a portion of the suction pressure region, has a circular cross-section, and is in communication with an external refrigerant circuit. The communication passage, which is a portion of the suction pressure region, intersects the circular passage for connection therewith, and is communicable with the compression chamber. The cylindrical member is fitted into the circular passage. The passage heat-insulating member made of an insulating material covers at least a portion of a passage wall surface which forms the communication passage. Rotation of the cylindrical member is prevented by engaging the passage heat-insulating member with the cylindrical member.
