A backlight device comprises a plurality of point light sources, a luminance uniformity sheet, a light diffusion sheet, a plurality of lenses, and a partition wall. The luminance uniformity sheet includes transmission portions that are arranged opposite the point light sources. The light diffusion sheet is disposed on an opposite side of the luminance uniformity sheet relative to the point light sources. The lenses are disposed between the light diffusion sheet and the luminance uniformity sheet. The partition wall is disposed at least one of between the point light sources and the luminance uniformity sheet and between the luminance uniformity sheet and the lenses and is disposed between adjacent point light sources in a plan view or between adjacent lenses in the plan view.

Backlight device and display device

A display device comprises a plurality of light sources, a luminance equalizer sheet and a display. The light sources include a plurality of first light sources arranged in an array on an arrangement region and a plurality of second light sources arranged at corner portions of the arrangement region, respectively. The luminance equalizer sheet is arranged opposite the light sources to equalize luminance, the luminance equalizer sheet including first portions that face the first light sources, respectively, and second portions that face the second light sources, respectively, the second portions being different from the first portions. The display is arranged opposite the luminance equalizer sheet and disposed on an opposite side of the luminance equalizer sheet relative to the light sources. The second portions of the luminance equalizer sheet form corner low transmittance areas with lower light transmittance than a portion of the luminance equalizer sheet other than the first portions and the second portions.

Display device and backlight device

A light emitting device comprises a light emitting substrate with a plurality of light emitting elements, a luminance equalizer sheet provided opposite the light emitting substrate and having a plurality of through holes for transmitting light irradiated from the light emitting elements; and a holding member having a first holding surface that supports the light emitting substrate and has a first engagement portion that is engaged with the first emitting substrate, and a second holding surface that supports at least an edge portion of the luminance equalizer sheet and has a second engagement portion that is engaged with the edge portion of the luminance equalizer sheet, the first engagement portion and the second engagement portion being aligned with respect to each other on a predetermined plane, and a distance between the first holding surface and the second holding surface increasing or decreasing as moving away from the predetermined plane.

Light emitting device and display device

A light emitting device comprises a light emitting substrate with a plurality of light emitting elements, and a luminance equalizer sheet provided opposite the light emitting substrate, having a plurality of through holes for transmitting light irradiated from the light emitting elements and having a linear expansion coefficient different from a linear expansion coefficient of the light emitting substrate, the light emitting substrate and the luminance equalizer sheet being positioned relative to each other at a predetermined position, at least one with a larger linear expansion coefficient among the light emitting substrate and the luminance equalizer sheet having a curved shape, and a degree of curvature of the one with the larger linear expansion coefficient being larger than a degree of curvature of one with a smaller linear expansion coefficient among the light emitting substrate and the luminance equalizer sheet.

A surface light source device comprises: a plurality of light sources, an optical sheet, and a diffusion plate. The optical sheet includes a transmission part having a plurality of through holes that are configured to transmit light emitted from the light sources, and a reflection part configured to reflect the light emitted from the light sources. The optical sheet is configured such that the through holes include a plurality of first through holes each having a hole diameter set according to a distance from a respective one of the light sources, and at least one second through hole each having a hole diameter set to a different size from the hole diameter set according to the distance from the respective one of the light sources.

Surface light source device, display device and optical sheet manufacturing method

A lighting device includes a light source, a substrate and a reflective sheet. The light source is mounted on the substrate. The substrate includes a substrate side opening in a vicinity of the light source. The reflective sheet is provided to cover a surface of the substrate. The reflective sheet includes a reflective sheet side opening at a location corresponding to the light source. The substrate side opening is arranged such that an inner edge portion of the reflective sheet side opening is inserted thereto or the light source is fixed thereto.

Lighting device with substrate and reflective sheet and display device having lighting device with substrate and reflective sheet

A lighting device includes a substrate, a light source and a reflective sheet. The light source is fixed relative to a surface of the substrate with a gap therebetween. The reflective sheet includes first and second portions that are separated with respect to each other and are arranged with respect to each other in a first direction. The reflective sheet is configured such that both the first and second portions are inserted into the gap between the light source and the surface of the substrate as viewed from a perpendicular direction, or such that one of the first and second portions extends through the gap between the light source and the surface of the substrate to a vicinity of the other one of the first and second portions that is provided outside of the light source as viewed from the perpendicular direction.

An input device includes an optical sensor which senses an object on a plane where the emitted light travels, an optical member which changes a path of the light emitted from the optical sensor, and a processing unit which performs input processing based on sensing results of the optical sensor; the optical sensor and the optical member form a first sensing surface consisting of a planar region in which the light emitted from the optical sensor travels and a second sensing surface that is farther from the optical sensor than the first sensing surface, and the processing unit performs the input processing based on a first sensing result of the optical sensor on the first sensing surface and a second sensing result of the optical sensor on the second sensing surface.

Optical member for backlight device and liquid crystal display device using the same

An aerial image display device includes a display component, an imaging component, and a first limiter. The display component has a display surface for displaying an image. The imaging component has a first reflecting surface and a second reflecting surface that are arranged perpendicular to each other along an image formation plane of the imaging component. The imaging component forms an aerial image of the image in a display area that is symmetrical with the display surface with respect to the image formation plane. The first limiter is disposed closer to the display component than the imaging component. The first limiter limits an incident angle of incident light incident on the imaging component. The first reflection surface and the second reflection surface are inclined by an angle between 30&#xb0; and 60&#xb0; with respect to a median plane that includes a perpendicular of each of the display surface and the image formation plane.

Aerial image display device

A light-projecting device includes a light source that emits a light, and a scanner that performs a first scan of the light in a first direction and a second direction opposed to the first direction, and performs a second scan of the light in a direction orthogonal to the first direction. The scanner performs the second scan while the scanner is swinging in a first angle range when the scanner performs the first scan in the first direction. The scanner performs the second scan while the scanner is swinging in a second angle range that is greater than the first angle range when the scanner performs the first scan in the second direction.

Light-projecting device

An image projection apparatus includes laser light sources that each emit laser light; a beam combiner combining the laser lights; a beam deflector periodically changing a traveling direction of the combined laser lights and directing the laser lights to a screen; and a controller controlling a drive current supplied to the laser light sources based on a relationship between the drive current and a total light intensity outputted from the laser light sources, in which the total light intensity comprises three ranges, the controller supplies the drive current to the laser light sources when the laser lights are emitted in the total light intensity included in either the first or the third range, and the controller supplies the drive current to at least one or some of the laser light sources when the combined laser lights are emitted in the total light intensity included in the second range.

Laser optical device and image projection device

An optical pickup has a first optical system and a second optical system.
