A clear coating composition which inhibits a corrosion reaction by containing a rust preventive agent in a clear layer on a silver-plating payer and preventing a corrosive substance such as chlorine ion from contacting with the surface of the silver-plating layer, and develops beautiful silver-plating design for a long time, and an inmold decoration product comprising a silver-plating layer. The clear coating composition is used in forming a multilayer coating film obtained by forming a base coating film layer, a silver-plating layer, and a clear coating film layer in succession on a plastic substrate.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a base coating composition for decorated moldings containing silver plating layer and a top clear coating composition for decorated moldings containing silver plating layer, and decorated moldings obtainable by using these compositions; the compositions and moldings are to be excellent in silver deposition tendency, basecoat film smoothness, adhesion and/or film appearance. A base coating composition for decorated moldings containing silver plating layer comprising a main composition for base coating comprising an acrylic polyol (A1), an organic-modified polydimethylsiloxane (A2) and an epoxysilane (A3) represented by the chemical scheme (1): in the scheme, Rrepresents a methyl, methoxy or ethoxy group and Rand Rare the same or different and each represents a methoxy or ethoxy group, and a curing agent for base coating comprising a polyisocyanate, wherein the base coating composition for decorated moldings is a two-package curing type urethane coating composition, in the main composition for base coating, the (A2)/(A1) ratio is 0.02/100 to 0.20/100 on the solid weight basis and the (A3)/(A1) ratio is 1.5/100 to 5.5/100 on the solid weight basis, and the equivalent ratio between the NCO groups in the curing agent for base coating and the OH groups in the acrylic polyol (A1), namely the NCO/OH equivalent ratio, is 1.5 to 3.0.

An operation switch having an operation surface with a specified pattern printed thereon and covered with a soft-feeling layer of paint, which can obtain the increased durability of adhesion between the pattern-printed surface and the soft-feeling coat of paint by adopting a simple technical means and can withstand repeated finger-pressing operations for a long period of service life without stripping the soft-feeling layer from the pattern-printed surface. This is achieved by first printing a specified pattern on the operation substrate surface of the switch by using siliconeless ink or a two-component isocyanate setting type urethane ink and then covering the pattern-printed surface with a coat of a transparent or semitransparent soft paint or by first coating and then printing.

The present invention provides a coating composition for automotive upholstery, with which a 1-coat finish of not yet surface-treated (pretreated) plastic materials such as polyolefin materials can be performed, and which is aqueous, and excellent also in chemical resistance. The present invention provides: an aqueous primer coating composition of which the deterioration of the water resistance is prevented with the high adhesion maintained, and which is excellent in the gasohol resistance and the pigment dispersion stability; and a thing coated with this aqueous primer coating composition. The aqueous primer coating composition according to the present invention, comprises acid anhydride-modified poly(olefin chloride) emulsion resin (A), aqueous alkyd resin (B) and aqueous novolac-type epoxy resin (C), wherein the contents of the (A), (B), and (C) are (A) 20 to 60 weight %, (B) 10 to 60 weight %, and (C) 10 to 60 weight % in terms of solid content weight % to the total resin solid content in the composition. The coated thing, according to the present invention, is coated with the present invention aqueous primer coating composition.

Aqueous primer coating composition and article coated therewith

A process for producing a bumper of synthetic resin for use in an automobile, the bumper including a core and an outer layer covering the core. The process includes the steps of preparing a core forming material that includes a main component and a polyethylene added to the main component, the main component being produced by pulverizing a recovered bumper which has been formed using a polyolefin-based resin composition modified by an olefinic elastomer and which has a thermosetting synthetic resin coating film on its surface, and an outer layer forming material that includes the polyolefin-based resin composition modified by the olefinic elastomer and the polyethylene in a content A.sub.2 which is smaller than a content A.sub.1 of the polyethylene included in the core forming material (A.sub.2 &lt;A.sub.1); injecting the outer layer forming material through a feed channel into a bumper molding cavity in a mold; injecting the core forming material to flow into the outer layer forming material located in the feed channel and the cavity, and allowing the outer layer forming material and the core forming material to flow into the cavity; and pushing the outer layer forming material and the core forming material which are located in the feed channel into the cavity by the outer layer forming material thereby to form the core and the outer layer.

Process for producing automobile bumper made of synthetic resin

A bumper of synthetic resin for use in an automobile includes a core, and an outer layer covering the core. The material for forming the core includes a main component produced by pulverizing a recovered bumper which has been formed using a polyolefin-based resin composition modified by an olefinic elastomer and which has a thermosetting synthetic resin coating film on its surface, and a polyethylene added to the main component. The material for forming the outer layer includes the polyolefin-based resin composition modified by the olefinic elastomer and the polyethylene in a content A.sub.2 which is smaller than a content A.sub.1 of the polyethylene in the core forming material (A.sub.2 &lt;A.sub.1). The impact resistance of the core is enhanced with the addition of the polyethylene, despite the inclusion of the coating film particles. The outer layer is excellent in heat resisting characteristic, because of a smaller content of the polyethylene.
