In the electrooptical device, the semiconductor element is arranged so as to overlap with the light reflection portion in plan view and is arranged on a flattened film provided so as to cover at least an opening of the groove.

The writing circuit comprises an inversion circuit for maintaining a voltage between a potential of the data line and a predetermined potential for a predetermined time, and inverting the maintained voltage with respect to a reference potential and applying the inverted voltage to the data line after the lapse of the predetermined time, in a period of time when one scanning line of the plurality of scanning lines is selected.
