The rack housing has an engaging concave section having a bottom surface configured by a bottom inclined surface that is inclined in a direction outward in the radial direction toward the opening side of the rack housing, and the rack bush comprises an engaging convex section having a top surface configured by a top inclined surface that is inclined in a direction outward in the radial direction toward the opening side of the rack housing. The top inclined surface is pressed against the bottom inclined surface toward outside in the radial direction, and the outside surface of the engaging convex section facing the opening side of the rack housing is pressed against the inner side surface of the engaging concave section facing the inner side of the rack housing.

Rack and pinion steering gear unit

A rack housing has a concave portion first inclined surfaceon the inner side surface of an engaging concave portion located on the opening side that is inclined in a direction toward the back side while going outward in the radial direction. The rack bush has a convex portion first inclined surface on the outer side surface of an engaging convex portion that faces the concave portion first inclined surface, and that is inclined in a direction toward the back side while going outward in the radial direction. The convex portion first inclined surface is pressed outward in the radial direction against the concave portion first inclined surface, and the other outer side surface of the engaging convex portion facing the back side is pressed in the axial direction against the other inner side surface of the engaging concave portion facing the opening side.

Rack and pinion type steering gear unit

An electric power steering apparatus has a first rolling bearing and a second rolling bearing rotatably supporting an output shaft. The first rolling bearing is provided between an inner peripheral surface of a through-hole of a gear housing and an outer peripheral surface of the output shaft. The second rolling bearing is provided between an inner peripheral surface of an intermediate plate and the outer peripheral surface of the output shaft. The intermediate plate has an outer peripheral portion supported and fixed in an opening portion of the gear housing.

Electric power steering apparatus

An electric power steering apparatus has a first rolling bearing and a second rolling bearing rotatably supporting an output shaft. The first rolling bearing is provided between an inner peripheral surface of a through-hole of a gear housing and an outer peripheral surface of the output shaft. The second rolling bearing is provided between an inner peripheral surface of an intermediate plate press-fitted and fixed in an opening portion of the gear housing and the outer peripheral surface of the output shaft. An outer peripheral portion of the intermediate plate has alternately arranged large diameter portions and small diameter portions, and the large diameter portions are press-fitted in the gear housing.
