An adapter for use in a filter device is provided, the adapter having a downwardly slanted inner wall including two or more hollow passageways, and a central fluid flow port, wherein the adapter can be welded to a filter device housing head.

A filter has first and second fittings, a permeable filter medium, and a housing. The housing defines a fluid flow path within the housing between the first and second fittings, and the permeable filter medium is arranged in the fluid flow path to remove one or more substances from a fluid flowing along the fluid flow path. A reservoir is positioned in an upper region of the housing and includes a wall surrounding the first and second fittings of the filter. Each of the fittings has a topmost portion and the wall of the reservoir has a topmost portion, the topmost portion of each filter fitting being at or below the topmost portion of the reservoir wall. A filter arrangement may include a filter and a manifold assembly having first and second fittings which may be sealingly coupled to or uncoupled from the first and second fittings of the filter.

A filter has first and second fittings, a permeable filter medium, and a housing. Filtration systems may comprise a manifold having a fitting and a filter having a fitting. One of the manifold fitting and the filter fitting may comprise a nozzle including a tip portion having a contact surface. The other of the manifold fitting and the filter fitting may comprise a receptacle which receives the nozzle and has a contact surface. The filter may be removably mountable to the manifold with the filter fitting detachably engaging the manifold fitting and the contact surface at the tip portion of the nozzle abutting and sealing against the contact surface of the receptacle to prevent leakage at the end of the nozzle.

A filter comprises a housing and a filter cartridge. The housing includes an inlet, an outlet, a vent, and a filter cartridge chamber. The filter cartridge is permanently positioned in the filter cartridge chamber of the housing with an annular channel between the filter cartridge and the housing. The bottom of the filter cartridge and the interior of the bottom of the housing each include a surface which inclines upwardly toward the annular channel.

Filtration systems may comprise a manifold, a filter, a carriage, and a mounting mechanism. The manifold and the filter may each include an inlet fitting and an outlet fitting. The carriage may support the filter with the fittings of the manifold and filter respectively axially aligned. The mounting mechanism may be arranged between the manifold and the carriage to move the carriage and the filter between a disengaged position in which the filter fittings are spaced from the manifold fittings and an engaged position in which the filter fittings respectively engage the manifold fittings.
