A sea-island composite fiber in which island components are interspersed in a sea component on a fiber cross-section, wherein the island components have a composite structure formed with two or more different polymers joined together, and the ratio (L/D) of the length (L) of the joint section of the island component and the diameter (D) of the composite island component is 0.1 to 10.0. The sea-island composite fiber has satisfactory high-order processability, and therefore can be produced with high productivity and quality using existing equipment, and thin fibers obtained by removing the sea component have functions of structure control while having an excellent tactile impression.

A method of producing a tubular body wherein a continuous fiber impregnated with a resin is wound around a mandrel body rotating together with a mandrel shaft section at a predetermined circumferential speed while the continuous fiber is reciprocated in parallel with a rotation axis of the mandrel body, including moving a feed roller that feeds the continuous fiber to the mandrel body without rotating from a middle of the mandrel body to one end of the mandrel body; hooking the continuous fiber by a return section provided at the one end of the mandrel body; winding the continuous fiber on the one end of the mandrel body while a center axis of the feed roller is orthogonal to a feeding direction of the continuous fiber; and rotating the center axis of the feed roller to move the feed roller in a reverse direction.

Method of producing tubular body

A process for producing a beam member formed by a reinforcing fiber base material which has a web portion and at least a pair of flange portions extending to both sides via at least a branching point from the web portion, at a cross-sectional surface orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the beam member, and by a shaped filler which fills a gap having a wedge shape formed at the branching point, is provided. The shaped filler is produced by: (A) a filler supply process for supplying a filler member configured by reinforcing fibers; (B) a preshaping process for providing a preshaped filler having at least a wedge projection portion, by pressurizing the filler member by a preshaping mold; and (C) a filler deforming process for providing a shaped filler by deforming the preshaped filler.
