A direct-current bus power supply as a power supply device supplies power to a load capable of switching a state between a driving state in which driving is performed by receiving power supply and a standby state in which driving is stopped while receiving power supply. The power supply device includes: a diode bridge circuit and capacitors as a rectifier circuit that enables an alternating-current voltage to be rectified by respective rectification systems of full-wave rectification and voltage doubler rectification; and a switching unit that perform switching between the full-wave rectification and the voltage doubler rectification on the basis of a voltage value of the alternating-current voltage and the state of the load.

Motor drive device

A hand dryer includes: nozzles each provided on a wall of a hand insertion portion, transforming a high-pressure airflow from an air blower into a high-speed airflow, and blowing the high-speed airflow into the hand insertion portion. The hand dryer includes: a hand sensor including a plurality of electrode pairs and detecting a hand inserted into the hand insertion portion from a change in capacitance between two electrodes included in the plurality of electrode pairs, each of the plurality of electrode pairs consisting of a first electrode and a second electrode having different polarities to each other; and a controller that drives the air blower on the basis of a combination of the two electrodes with which a hand has been detected by the hand sensor.

Hand dryer

A hand dryer device includes nozzles to blow airflows into a hand-placeable drying portion, a blower to generate the airflow to be blown out of the nozzles, a sensor having a light-emitting element to detect the presence or absence of a hand in the drying portion, and a controller to make a hand detection determination of whether the hand is present or absent in the drying portion based on a detection result of the sensor, and control driving of the blower based on a determination result of the hand detection determination. The controller controls an intermittent driving of the light-emitting element of the sensor. In first and second driving cycles of the sensor, when a determination result in the first driving cycle and a first determination result in the second driving cycle differ from each other, the controller extends a driving period of the sensor in the second driving cycle.

Hand dryer device

A hand dryer that includes a capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structure that detects a capacitance generated in a capacitance detection electrode to detect a presence or absence of an object to be detected, includes a plurality of capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structures. While one of the capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structures is in operation, an operation of at least another of the capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structures is stopped to operate the capacitance-detection-type proximity sensor structures during different periods of time.

Hand drying apparatus

A hand dryer includes a housing including a hand insertion portion and nozzles communicating with the hand insertion portion, a high-pressure air stream generation device placed inside the housing, hand detection sensors detecting a user's hand inserted into the hand insertion portion, a control unit that, when the hand detection sensors detect the user's hand, operates the high-pressure air stream generation device to cause an air stream to jet out from the nozzles, and a drain tank collecting droplets blown off the user's hand and scattered in the hand insertion portion. The hand dryer includes a drain conductive plate placed to face the top surface of the drain tank and a control circuit detecting the water level of the drain tank based on capacitance generated in the drain conductive plate.
