A medical system includes a medical device, an over-tube, and a console. The medical device includes an insertion portion. The over-tube is configured to receive the insertion portion. A console having a first connector is attached to the medical device and a second connector is attached to the over-tube. The over-tube has a tubular main body and a proximal-end portion. The proximal-end portion comprises a tubular member having an insertion port for receiving the insertion portion of the medical device therethrough. A base portion is coupled to the second connector and a moving mechanism is coupled to both the tubular member and the base portion. The moving mechanism is configured to cause the tubular member to move with respect to the second connector such that the tubular member has two or more degrees of freedom with respect to the second connector.

A medical device includes a long shaft member, a curved portion configured to be curved, a support member that is configured to be deformed along a curved shape of the curved portion, a guide member that extends from a distal end of the curved portion, and a linear member that includes a connection portion connected to the guide member, the linear member being inserted into the support member, and that pulls the guide member in accordance with a change of the curved shape. A central axis of the guide member is positioned apart from the central axis of the support member. The linear member which protrudes from the support member is inclined with respect to a longitudinal axis of the guide member and is connected to the connection portion.

An implant placement device includes a sheath; a long-axis member having an opening on a distal end side, movable along an axis, and a lumen communicating with the opening; a stylet movable in the axis and provided within the lumen to be turnable around the axis; an operating part on a proximal end side of the stylet to turn the stylet around the axis; a guide part on the proximal end side of the sheath to guide the operating part in a predetermined direction, thereby moving the sheath in the axis with respect to the stylet and turning a distal end portion of the stylet around the axis; and a coupling portion formed at the distal end of the stylet, detachably coupled with an implant, and moving in the axis and turning around the axis along with the stylet and the implant according to an operation of the operating part.

A suture needle has: a flexible elongated shaft member; a passing mechanism for passing a suture needle between two gripping members, wherein the passing mechanism has fitting hole portions that are provided in the respective gripping members and that hold the suture needle in a fitting manner, a holding member movable in a direction intersecting the axis of each fitting hole portion and having a pressing surface which can press an outer circumferential surface of the suture needle held in the fitting hole portion, and a tensile-force-transmitting member coupled with the holding member and which can move along the longitudinal axis of the elongated shaft member, wherein the outer circumferential surface of the suture needle is pressed by the pressing surface against the inner circumferential surface of the fitting hole portion by the motion of the tensile-force-transmitting member.

A multi-degree-of-freedom forceps includes a insertion portion that has a first bending portion and a second bending portion connected to each other at both ends via an operating member; a treatment portion that is attached to the first bending portion and is used for tissue treatment; and an operating portion that is attached to the second bending portion to bend the second bending portion to thereby bend the first bending portion. The operating portion has a handle body capable of being swung relative to the insertion portion with the second bending portion as an operation center. The handle body has a grip portion that is gripped by a user in use. The grip portion is provided around the operation center or closer to the insertion portion side than the operation center.

A tissue fastening apparatus includes a tissue fastening tool, with fastens a first biological tissue and a second biological tissue so as to bring the tissues into close contact and an applicator for indwelling the tissue fastening tool. The tissue fastening tool is made of an elastic wire rod and is wound in a coil shape. The applicator includes a needle tube accommodated in an inner cavity with the tissue fastening tool stretched, a stylet inserted into the inner cavity of the needle tube nearer to the proximal side than the tissue fastening tool, and a rotating mechanism that rotates the stylet around an axis when the stylet is moved toward a distal end of the needle tube. The tissue fastening tool and the stylet are disengageably engaged with each other and integrally and rotatably connected with each other. The rotating mechanism rotates the stylet in a direction opposite to the winding direction of the tissue fastening tool as seen from the proximal side.

A shock-absorbing mechanism includes a shaft having a linear member wound therearound, a base having a relative position fixed to a first end of the linear member and formed with a shock-absorbing space which spreads toward the radial outside from the outer peripheral surface of the shaft, and a passage formed in the base in communication with the shock-absorbing space and the outside of the base and causing a second end of the linear member to extend to the outside of the base.

A ligating apparatus including a thread receiving portion movably disposed at a distal end of an inserting part body. An outer circumference of the thread receiving portion forms the loop holding portion around which a knot forming loop formed from a ligature is disposed. When a first end of the ligature is pulled into the thread receiving portion, the knot forming loop is pushed out of the loop holding portion by a delivery portion of the knot pusher. The knot forming loop is further pushed by the delivery portion along the ligature toward tissue and ligated. Such ligating apparatus is capable of reducing a load on the tissue to be ligated during a ligating operation.

Rotational force transmission mechanism, force-attenuating apparatus, medical device, and medical instrument-operation mechanism

A manipulation mechanism for moving an oscillating body in a soft endoscope in a stable locus such as for laparoscopic procedures. The mechanism has first and second oscillating portions oscillating on first and second imaginary planes and guide members which regulate oscillating locus of the first and second oscillating portions. A manipulation stick is fixed to the second oscillating portion and capable of moving on the second imaginary plane. The oscillating portions respectively have a force-transmitting-member attachment member, a pair of first support members, and a force receiving member. The pair of first support members is provided with first and second convex portions and each of the first and second guide members is provided with first and second groove portions formed so as to be closer to each other in a direction away from the manipulation reference plane.
