An image capturing apparatus includes an optical system, an image capturing unit, a posture detection unit, and a control unit. The optical system forms an image of a light beam from an object. The image capturing unit obtains image data corresponding to the light beam by the optical system. The posture detection unit detects a posture of the image capturing apparatus. The control unit determines based on the posture whether the image capturing apparatus is in a mode to perform shooting in a state in which an optical axis of the optical system faces a zenith or in a mode to perform shooting in a state in which the optical axis of the optical system faces a photographer side. The control unit changes control in a shooting operation using the image capturing unit in accordance with a result of the determination.

Image capturing apparatus and image capturing method

An image capturing apparatus includes a main body and a rotatable image capturing unit. The main body includes a spherical portion having at least three support points. The rotatable image capturing unit includes an image capturing optical system, and is configured to rotationally move while being supported by the support points. In the rotatable image capturing unit, a gravitational point is located so as to overlap a center of gravity of a polygonal plane formed by connecting the support points and present on a side closer to an image sensor the polygonal plane in a direction perpendicular to the polygonal plane.

Image capturing apparatus

An imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit, a first display unit, a second display unit, and a controller. The imaging unit is configured to obtain an image of an object. The first display unit is configured to be observed through an ocular lens. The second display unit includes a touchpanel. The controller is configured to cause the first display to display a live view which is based on the image obtained by the imaging unit and temporarily store the image in a first state. The controller is configured to cause the second display unit to display the image temporarily stored and obtain information concerning image processing based on an output from the touchpanel in a second state.

Imaging apparatus supporting different processing for different ocular states

An image pickup apparatus includes an image pickup section configured by an image pickup optical system, and an image pickup device for a storage section for temporarily storing image data, a display section, a dividing operation section for instructing that a region to be displayed on the display section is to be divided, and a signal processing control section including at least a display control section, and an image processing section, wherein the signal processing control section performs display control of displaying, on the display section, an image based on the image data, dividing a display region of the display section after receiving a division instruction from the dividing operation section, and causing a second image to be displayed in one of regions obtained by the division, and repeatedly updating/displaying a first image in a display region, of the display section, different from an image display region.
