An image forming unit to be attached to an apparatus body of an image forming apparatus includes a first cartridge including a driven portion configured to rotate on a first rotational axis; and a second cartridge configured separable from the first cartridge. The second cartridge includes an input portion configured to receive driving force from the apparatus body; and a drive transmission portion configured to rotate on a second rotational axis and to transmit the driving force to the driven portion.

An image forming apparatus including a photosensitive member, a developing cartridge that has a developing member, a developing frame, an end member attached to the developing frame, and a restricting portion restricting a swing movement of the end member, and an apparatus body to which the developing cartridge is attachable. Image forming apparatus and developing cartridge

An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, a first cartridge detachably attached to the apparatus body, a second cartridge detachably attached to the apparatus body in a state where the first cartridge has been attached to the apparatus body, a guide unit configured to guide the first cartridge, and a drawer member configured to be inserted to and drawn out of the apparatus body in a direction intersecting the axial direction. The drawer member is inserted to the apparatus body in a state supporting the second cartridge. The first cartridge includes an engagement portion and the second cartridge includes an engaged portion, and the second cartridge is supported by the first cartridge via engagement of the engagement portion and the engaged portion.

A developing apparatus includes a first conveying member and a second conveying member shorter than the first conveying member. In a rotational direction of the rotation shaft, the second conveying member is disposed upstream of the first conveying member, with the fixed end of the second conveying member and the fixed end of the first conveying member placed one on another. The free length of the second conveying member at a first position, a second position, and a third position, which sequentially distance away from the driving transmission member in the axial direction of the rotation shaft, sequentially becomes larger.

Developing apparatus and process cartridge

A cartridge attachable to a main body of an image forming apparatus, the cartridge including a developer bearing member, a frame supporting the developer bearing member, a developing blade including a regulating member and a support member, and a collecting member. The collecting member includes a containing portion. The collecting member includes an opening opposing the developer bearing member. The containing portion extends in a rotational axis direction of the developer bearing member, and a sectional area of a longitudinal end portion area of the containing portion, orthogonal to the rotational axis direction, corresponding to a longitudinal end portion of the developer bearing member is larger than that of a longitudinal middle portion area of the containing portion.

Developing cartridge

A developing device, detachably mountable to an image forming apparatus main body, includes a developing frame containing a developer, a developing roller performing developing using the developer, and a plurality of electric contact points disposed at one end in an axial direction of the developing roller, on a face that intersects the axial direction. The developing device is pivotably centered on a pivot axis parallel to the axial direction of the developing roller, and electrically conducts with the image forming apparatus main body via the plurality of electric contact points when mounted to the image forming apparatus main body. In a plane perpendicular to the axial direction of the developing roller, a position of the pivot axis is within a polygon having a greatest area formed of outer shapes of the plurality of electric contact points and straight lines connecting the outer shapes of the multiple electric contact points.

Developing device, process cartridge, and image forming apparatus

A developing device includes a developing unit including a developer bearing member and a developing frame member configured to support the developer bearing member. The developing unit is supported to be pivotable about a first shaft and a second shaft. A biasing member configured to bias the first shaft is provided.

Disclosed is a developing cartridge in which a developer bearing member moves when a pressed part is pressed by a press member provided in a main body of an apparatus to move a developing frame in a state in which the developing cartridge is attached to the main body of the apparatus. The pressed part is provided with a positioning part that contacts and positions the press member. The press member is urged toward the positioning part by an urging member. The developing frame has a guiding part that moves the press member against an urging force of the urging member when the developing cartridge is attached to the main body of the apparatus.

Developing cartridge which is movable toward and away from image bearing member

A developer container includes a conveyance member having at least a first sheet member and a second sheet member and configured to convey the developer, a deformation portion provided to contact the first sheet member and configured to elastically deform the first sheet member, and a release portion configured to release elastic deformation of the first sheet member to cause the developer on the first sheet member to fly toward an opening, wherein a containing chamber includes a recessed portion as viewed in a lengthwise direction of the containing chamber and wherein the second sheet member is in contact with a wall inside the recessed portion when the developer on the first sheet member is positioned at the release portion.
