In one embodiment, a marine current power generation device has rotary blades, rotating shaft, power generator, guide bearings, thrust collars and thrust bearings. The guide bearing has a second slide surface being slidable relative to the first slide surface of the rotating shaft. The thrust bearing has a fourth slide surface being slidable relative to the third slide surface of the rotary plate of the thrust collar. The materials of the first and third slide surfaces include ferrous materials, stainless materials, Ti, Ti alloy, Co, or Co alloy. The materials of the second and fourth slide surfaces include a resin material filled with a first fibrous member and a second fibrous member. The second fibrous member is smaller than the first fibrous member.

Cause of abnormalities of an abnormal state of a control system of a plant of a turbine are estimated and diagnosed from characteristics of abnormal phenomena. By using a control system abnormality cause-and-effect matrix in which characteristics of a plurality of abnormal phenomena constructed on a knowledge base are correlated with a plurality of causes by correlating (weighting) scores, plant devices causing abnormality are inferred and diagnosed.

A torque measuring device including a light irradiation element for irradiating a light, and a control unit operatively connected to the irradiation element so as to branch the light into a plurality of lights as beams and control a beam diameter of the respective lights so as to irradiate the lights on a surface of a member to be measured. The torque measuring device further includes a plurality of reflectors disposed on the surface of the member to be measured so as to change reflection state of the respective lights, a plurality of detectors for detecting the changes of intensities of the respective reflected lights and generating signals thereof, and a signal processor for processing the generated signals and operating a rotation period on the basis of the generated signals thereby to calculate a torque of the member to be measured.
