Tape feeder

A component supply device supplies a component accommodated in a carrier tape including a base tape and a cover tape pasted on the base tape and having a length to a forward end thereof that is longer than that of the base tape. The component supply device includes a tape conveying part, a turning over correcting part, and a peeling part. The tape conveying part conveys the carrier tape along a conveyance path. The turning over correcting part moves the forward end of the cover tape folded to a side opposite to a side of a conveyance direction, to a position located ahead of a forward end of the base tape in the conveyance direction in the conveyance path. The peeling part captures the forward end of the cover tape, and peels off the cover tape from the base tape.

Component supply device and cover tape peeling method

The component supply device includes a body, a first carrier tape transporter, a second carrier tape transporter, and a controller. The body includes a tape transport path. The first carrier tape transporter transports a carrier tape to a component pickup position. The second carrier tape transporter transports the carrier tape to the first carrier tape transporter. The controller is configured to communicate with the component installation device and control the first carrier tape transporter and the second carrier tape transporter in one operation mode selected from a plurality of operation modes.

A component supplying device of the disclosure includes a main body, a carrier tape transport unit which transports a component to a component pick-up position, a detector which detects presence or absence of a carrier tape in the transport path, a designation unit which designates a transport mode of the carrier tape using a flag based on a change in the presence or absence of the carrier tape which is detected, a storage unit which stores the presence or absence of the carrier tape, the flag which is designated, and information of the component which is stored by the carrier tape which is mounted in the component supplying device, and a determination unit which determines a processing operation to be performed when power which is supplied to the component supplying device is reintroduced based on the presence or absence of the carrier tape and the flag which is designated.

A tape feeder includes a gate, a gate drive mechanism, and a tape feed mechanism. The gate is provided in an insertion port through which a carrier tape storing components is inserted. In the gate drive mechanism, a tape feed mechanism which drives the gate in opening and closing directions feeds the components stored in the inserted carrier tape to a pickup position. The gate drive mechanism includes a spring member which biases the gate in the closing direction, and a solenoid which drives the gate in the opening direction against a biasing force of the spring member.

A second tape feeding mechanismB can deal with a plurality of types of carrier tapes and has a biasing mechanismthat brings a biasing memberin which a recess portionis provided in an abutment surfaceinto abutment with a carrier tape so as to bring the carrier tape into engagement with an outer circumferential surface of a sprocketB, and with a preceding tape kept in engagement with the sprocketB, a leading end portion of a following tape is inserted between the sprocketB and the preceding tape.

A feeder installing attachment includes: a main body portion including attachment side fitting parts provided on a lower surface thereof and having an installing compatibility with first feeder side fitting parts provided on a lower surface of a first tape feeder; and second feeder installing slots formed on an upper surface of the main body portion and engaging with second feeder side fitting parts provided on a lower surface of a second tape feeder having a standard width smaller than that of the first tape feeder. In a state where the attachment is mounted, an array pitch of the second feeder installing slots is smaller than an array pitch of the base side installing slots, and becomes an array pitch corresponding to the standard width of the second tape feeder.

A tape feeder includes: a feeder bottom support that rotatably holds a sprocket; and a tape presser mechanism that presses a carrier tape toward the feeder bottom support. The tape feeder includes a first tape feed mechanism which is provided in a downstream side and feeds a preceding tape to the component suction position, and a second tape feed mechanism provided in an upstream side and feeds a following tape from a tape introducing port side toward the first tape feed mechanism. The tape feeder also includes a tape slipping-off informing unit which informs the component mounting apparatus that the following tape is slipped off from the second tape feed mechanism. For example, the tape slipping-off informing unit decides that the following tape is slipped off when a rotation of a sprocket of the second tape feed mechanism in an opposite direction is detected.
