A molding die is devised to suppress the formation of a fragile layer, thereby ensuring stable production of a resin molded body having remarkably improved adhesion of a plating film. A plurality of stepped parts are formed so as to be spaced apart from each other on a second die surface which molds a back surface on the side opposite to a design surface to which metal plating is to be applied, along the main flowing direction of a molten resin and in a direction crossing the main flowing direction. Since the flow of the molten resin changes due to the stepped parts and the influence thereof extends even to the vicinity of the design surface, the formation of a fragile layer is suppressed.

Resin injection molding die and method for producing resin molded product

In a molded product, at least an opening end, forming a window frame of a window formed as a part of a molded subassembly, is fastened integrally to a skin of the molded subassembly. Alternatively, a decorative component part is disposed on an outer periphery of the window so that a parting line between the decorative component part and the skin is visible as being joined closely in a decorative surface of the completed molded product. A method for forming tear lines in the rear side of an automobile interior article having a cover portion being developed from which an airbag inflates. When either an automobile interior article body having an integrally molded surface portion or an automobile interior article surface portion is to be molded, the mold is opened after tear line forming projections are moved forward and backward with the mold closed. Thus, the tear lines can be formed at the molding time without any visible extrusion marks of the tear line forming projections on the front surface side (the design face).

The object of the invention is to provide a method for molding a resin-molded article having an excellent surface appearance without any resin-intrusion part on the front surface of a skin thereof. In the invention, the skin is placed on a part of a inner wall of a mold and then injecting a synthetic resin into a cavity of the mold to effect an integral molding of a resin-molded article having the skin on a part thereof, wherein a mold having a first gate on a first inner wall part located on the part other than the back surface of the skin placed on the inner wall of said mold and a second gate on a second inner wall part which faces the back surface of the skin placed on the inner wall is employed; and wherein the synthetic resin is first injected from said first gate until the tip portion of the synthetic resin comes close to the edge of said skin, and then the synthetic resin is injected from the second gate.

Methods for molding resin-molded articles

A resin part such as an instrument panel, a console box or door trim has a substrate body made of hard resin and a skin mounted on a surface of the substrate. To produce the resin part, a preformed elastic sheet is set within a mold cavity. Then, a molten resin is injected into the cavity through gates. The molten resin is first injected into the cavity through gates that are opposed to the skin and after the passage of a predetermined time, the resin is injected through gates that are not opposed to the skin, thereby forming a substrate that has the skin thermally fused to a surface thereof.
