A method for manufacturing a terminal-equipped electric wire is a method in which an exposed core wire of the electric wire is ultrasonically welded to a core wire connection portion of a terminal having a core wire connection portion and a coating crimping portion. The manufacturing method for the terminal-equipped electric wire including: supporting the core wire connection portion on an anvil; bringing the coating crimping portion into contact with a vibration suppressing contact portion; arranging the exposed core wire on the core wire connection portion and arranging the coating of the electric wire in the coating crimping portion; and ultrasonically welding the exposed core wire to the core wire connection portion in a state where the core wire connection portion is supported on the anvil and the coating crimping portion is in contact with the vibration suppressing contact portion.

Method for manufacturing terminal-equipped electrical wire, terminal-equipped electrical wire, and ultrasonic welding device

The present invention enables a core wire that contains a plurality of strands and a bonding object to be bonded more reliably using an ultrasonic bonding device that cantilever supports a pressing portion that performs ultrasonic bonding. A bonding object (for example, a terminal) is supported as on a stage, a core wire is overlaid on the bonding object, and the core wire and the bonding object are ultrasonically bonded in a state where the core wire is pressed toward the bonding object, using a pressing portion that is supported in cantilever fashion. During ultrasonic bonding, a pressing surface of the pressing portion is inclined in a pressing direction progressively toward a side where the pressing portion is cantilever supported, and also a bonding surface of the bonding object is inclined in the pressing direction progressively toward the side where the pressing portion is cantilever supported.

A wire harness capable of forming a short circuit by use of a plurality of electric wires and a joint connector while being slenderized and reduced in weight. The wire harness includes a plurality of circuit modules each forming a short circuit. Each of the circuit modules, includes a plurality of electric wires, and a plurality of external-connection connectors, connected to respective first ends of the electric wires, and a joint connector, connected to respective second ends of the electric wires to short-circuit the electric wires. The electric wires constituting the circuit modules are bundled together so that the joint connector of each of the circuit modules is discretely disposed so as to be located in a vicinity of at least one of the external-connection connectors included in the circuit module, around which electric wires a binding tape is wound.

Wire harness including short circuit and production method therefor

The present invention provides a water-proofing joint connector capable of electrically interconnecting a plurality of terminals, with a simple structure, irrespective of the number of the terminals. The water-proofing joint connector includes a connection conductor, a housing and a cap member. The connecting conductor has a plurality of fitting portions to be fitted with respective terminals, preliminarily held within the housing. The housing includes a plurality of terminal insertion portions and a cap-member insertion portion which opens to an opposite side of the terminal insertion portions. The cap member has a cap portion to close the cap-member insertion portion and a fit detection portion to come into contact with the terminal locking portion elastically displaced by the terminals failing to be fully fitted, to thereby prevent the cap member from being attached to the cap-member insertion portion.

Water-proofing joint connector

A joint connector capable of mutually short-circuiting wires reliably without an increase in the number of components and size thereof. The joint connector (JC) comprises a joint terminal for short-circuiting and a connector housing. The joint terminal includes a plurality of electric contact portions and a short-circuiting portion connecting the electric contact portions. The connector housing has a bottom wall and other walls surrounding a terminal insertion space into which each of the wire-side terminal is inserted, and a lance for locking the inserted wire-side terminal. The lance adapted to be deflected so as to project outwardly from the bottom wall, until the wire-side terminal reaches a proper insertion depth position, to be retracted from the wire-side terminal, and elastically return into the bottom wall, when the wire-side terminal reaches the position. The deflection of the lance allows the insertion of the wire-side terminal to be checked.

The connector-equipped electric-wire bundle comprises a first electric wire having a first conductor, and a second electric wire having a second conductor with a greater cross-sectional area and a greater breaking elongation than those of the first conductor. A second connector terminal having, as a second crimp portion, only a conductor barrel and a water-proofing-plug barrel is attached to an end of the second electric wire, and a first connector terminal having, as a first crimp potion, a conductor barrel, a water-proofing-plug barrel and an intermediate barrel is attached to an end of the first electric wire. The intermediate barrel is crimped onto an insulating cover in an intermediate region between the end of the conductor of the first electric wire and a water-proofing plug.

A flexible wiring member, which is capable of being wound around a wire harness, is provided with joint-side terminals, which are capable of being fitted with wire-side terminals, and the flexible wiring member includes a connection circuit for electrically connecting specified joint-side terminals in the joint-side terminals. Or, a plurality of joint-side terminals are previously held in the insulation housing, and these joint-side terminals are connected with a common flexible wiring member.
