A latch device for a vehicle includes an engageable member having an engageable notch engageable with a striker, a shaft member by which the engageable member is rotatably supported, a first body including a first support portion by which one end of the shaft member is supported, and a second body including a coupling portion coupled to the first body, and a second support portion by which another end of the shaft member is supported. The engageable member is rotatable about the shaft member between a first position in which engagement with the striker is achievable and a second position in which disengagement from the striker is permitted. With the first body, an entrance of the engageable notch through which the striker comes in the engageable notch in a state where the engageable member is in the first position is covered from one side in an axial direction of the shaft member. With the second body, the engageable notch in the state where the engageable member is in the first position is not covered, but left uncovered in entirety, from another side in the axial direction of the shaft member.

Latch device for vehicle

A latching device () for vehicles capable of engaging with and disengaging from a rod-like portion (P) to lock and unlock the latching device () includes: a casing () at least partly formed by a first member made of a first material and having an insertion groove (A) for allowing the rod-like portion to be inserted thereinto; and a second member (latch () or reinforcement plate ()) made of a second material and configured to contact the rod-like portion (P). The second material has a higher specific gravity and a higher modulus of elasticity than the first material. For example, the first material is resin, whereas the second material is metal.

Latching device for vehicles

A latch device for a vehicle which locks or unlocks by engaging with or disengaging from a rod-shaped portion includes a housing and a latchrotatably supported by the housing, the latch including a hook-shaped portionengageable with the rod-shaped portion to form a locked state. The hook-shaped portionincludes a first support surfaceA opposed to the rod-shaped portion in the locked state, a protruding portionlocated in a position closer to a distal end of the hook-shaped portion than the first support surfaceA and configured to protrude relative to the first support surfaceA, and a second support surfaceB provided on the protruding portionand configured to be opposed to the rod-shaped portion. The first support surfaceA and the second support surfaceB are configured to face in different directions, and to thereby be concurrently contactable with the rod-shaped portion.

Vehicle latch device

A side airbag apparatus is provided between a vehicle body and a back seat, and includes a base housing configured to house an airbag and an inflator, a base member having upper and lower base attachment portions provided to sandwich the base housing in an upper-to-lower direction and attached to a portion of the vehicle body, and a retainer member configured to hold the base housing from a vehicle back side. Right and left engagement claws at an upper end of a back wall of the retainer member are arranged to engage respectively with engagement holes provided at a portion of the vehicle body on the vehicle back side. A virtual plane passing through the upper and lower base attachment portions and extending along a vehicle front-to-back direction passes between the right and left engagement claws.

Side airbag apparatus

A first link () rotatably supported at a base member () of which a rotational motion is imparted by a pull member (e.g., wire), a second link () rotatably supported at the base member (), a latch () including a hook-like portion () engageable with a rod-like portion (), and a transmission mechanism (actuating lever) configured to transmit a rotational motion of the second link () to the latch () and to cause the latch to make a rotational motion are included. The first link () has a first action surface (A) and a second action surface (). The pulling operation made by the pull member () causes the first action surface (A) to push a contact surface (A), causing the second link () to make a rotational motion, and causes a surface of the first link () in contact with the second link () to be switched, partway through the pulling operation made by the pull member (), from the first action surface (A) to the second action surface ().

Latching device

A stowable vehicle seat includes a seat support portion that supports a seat cushion rotatably in the front-and-rear direction, a seat back provided with reclining elements that can be folded onto the seat cushion, a stowage recess portion disposed on the vehicle body floor side, a front-side leg portion disposed on the front side of the seat cushion, leg-portion locking elements that lock and unlock the front-side leg portion to and from the vehicle body floor side, a link mechanism connected to the reclining elements and the leg-portion locking elements, and a strap for operating the reclining mechanism and the leg-portion locking elements through the link mechanism, in which the seat back is locked in the folded state in a stowing operation by a pulling operation of the strap.

Stowable vehicle seat

Provided are a versatile and thin headrest, and seat for same, that can be operated smoothly by reducing an operation load at the time when the headrest is tilted from a head support state to a storage state, and is capable of preventing noise caused by the headrest. The headrest includes a pillar having a transverse shaft part and mounted to the upper part of the seat back, a headrest frame rotatably engaged with the transverse shaft part of the pillar, a headrest urging element that urges the headrest frame to one side, a locking element that hinders turning the headrest frame and pillar, a ratchet lever operating the locking element and sliding in the transverse direction, and a ratchet lever urging element, that urges the ratchet lever in the direction at a predetermined angle to the ratchet lever sliding in the transverse direction.

Headrest and vehicle seat provided with the same

A stowable vehicle seat with improved operability is configured so that a stowing and restoring operation can be performed by rotating seat support parts and provided on the rear end part of a seat cushion in the front and rear direction around the rotating center. The seat support part is provided with a rotating shaft provided on the seat cushion side, a rotating shaft bracket pivotally supporting the rotating shaft on the vehicle body floor side, and spiral springs one end part side of which is always locked to the rotating shaft side and which urges in the restoration rotating direction. The other end part side of the spiral springs is locked to the vehicle body floor side at different predetermined angles of the seat cushion.

A stowable vehicle seat includes a seat supporting portion that supports one end portion side of a seat cushion movably in a front-and-rear direction, a seat back that can be folded to a seat cushion through a reclining mechanism, a link mechanism that is connected to the reclining mechanism and is movable, and a strap connected to the reclining mechanism through the link mechanism. The link mechanism has a fourth link member that prohibits return from a moved position to an initial position after movement by the strap, and since an unlocked state of the reclining mechanism is maintained even if a pulling operation of the strap is stopped, the seat back can be reliably folded and stowed.

There are provided a headrest that prevents looseness, abnormal sounds, and noise caused by a frame urging element or elements and regulating with certainty the rotating of the headrest in a condition where vibrations occur, and a vehicle seat provided with the headrest. A headrest that tilts from a head support state in which the headrest is raised to a storage state includes a pillar mounted in the upper part of a seat back, a headrest frame rotatably engaged with the pillar, a headrest frame urging element or elements for urging the headrest frame to one side, and a locking element or elements that hinder the rotating of the headrest frame and the pillar. The headrest frame urging element or elements includes a shaft disposed on a member constituting the locking element or elements, and a damper and a spring that are disposed on the shaft.

There is provided a stowable vehicle seat having an erroneous operation preventive mechanism operating at the time of stowage/restoring operation. A stowable vehicle seat having an operating element using a strap for stowage/restoring operation includes brackets formed on a seat back frame, a rocking member rockably supported on the brackets, and a braking member fixed to the strap. The brackets each have an elongated hole extending in the up/down direction. The rocking member includes right and left plate bodies, each having a braking hole that is long in the up/down direction, and an upper plate connecting the plate bodies to each other. The upper plate comes into sliding contact with the strap on its lower side. The braking holes each have an expanded-width part on their front side. The braking member has the erroneous operation preventive mechanism formed being inserted through both of the elongated holes and the braking holes.

A seat has an erroneous operation preventing device for, locking movement of a seat strap to regulate the stowing or folding operation, the device including a movable member provided on a seat back side to be abutted with the strap, a first connecting member that is connectable to the movable member, a second connecting member connected to the first connecting member through a first connecting portion, a strap connecting member connected to the second connecting member through a second connecting portion and locked to one end portion side of the strap, and a regulator for regulating the movable member or the first connecting member movably toward one side, wherein the first connecting member is supported on a first movable shaft provided on the seat back side, and the first connecting portion is arranged to be moved to cross a straight line connecting the shaft portion and the second connecting portion.

Erroneous operation preventing device and stowable vehicle seat

A seat is provided having an erroneous operation preventing device in which a braking member secured to a strap is locked to regulate a folding operation in a stowing operation that includes an opening portion for guiding the strap to the seat back rear face side, a rotating member that is brought into contact with the strap, a pair of first brackets and upstanding separately on both sides of the opening portion and supporting the both end portion sides of the rotating member from above, a pair of connecting members and supporting both end portion sides of the rotating members from below while being urged toward the first brackets and side, and a movable member rotatably supported by the second bracket secured to the seat back side and connected to the connecting member. The movable member includes locking portions that lock the braking member and protrudes in a rotating direction.
