The lens apparatus according to an aspect of the present invention includes: a focus lens which is driven for bringing a desired subject into focus; a zoom lens which is driven for changing a focal length; and a diaphragm having an aperture diameter which is changed for adjusting an amount of photography light, and the lens apparatus is configured to adjust a position of the focus lens, to thereby perform flange back distance adjustment. In such a lens apparatus, the aperture diameter of the diaphragm is changed at a time of mode transition between a photography mode in which a normal photographing operation is possible and an adjustment mode in which the flange back distance adjustment is possible. Accordingly, the user can instantly know whether or not the lens apparatus is in the flange back distance adjustment mode, only by checking a video picture photographed by a television camera.

Lens apparatus

A driving apparatus comprises: an electro-mechanical conversion element; a driving member that drives backwards and forwards in a straight line in response to extension and contraction of the electro-mechanical conversion element which are brought about by a drive signal being supplied thereto; a driven member, frictionally engaged with the driving member, that moves backwards and forwards in a straight line along the driving member by driving the driving member; and a drive control unit that divides a whole traveling area of one or both of an outgoing traveling path and an incoming traveling path of the driven member into a plurality of divided areas and supplies different drive signals to the divided areas so as to implement a drive control.

Driving apparatus

An image displayed on a liquid crystal panel is projected on a projection surface by a projection lens such that the optical axis of the projection lens is perpendicular to the projection surface. An optical axis of a distance measurement light and an optical axis of a light receiving lens are each inclined a specified angle with respect to the optical axis of the projection lens to be not perpendicular to the projection surface so as to reduce noise caused by specularly reflected light that otherwise would be detected by the distance measurement unit when a highly reflective whiteboard is utilized as the projection surface. The distance measurement unit is formed by unitizing a light emitting element, a light emitting lens, the light receiving lens, and a light receiving element, and the distance measurement unit is held with the projection lens by a common holder.

Projector with auto focus device

In a rangefinder apparatus for projecting a light beam toward a target object a number of times; detecting light of the light beam reflected from the target object, and successively integrating output signals corresponding to the distance to the target object to carry out rangefinding; a voltage of an integrating capacitor in a rangefinding routine is detected, and the rangefinding routine is forcibly terminated if the voltage of the integrating capacitor is out of a preset range. Since the rangefinding routine is forcibly terminated if the voltage of the integrating capacitor in the rangefinding routine is outside of the preset range, malfunctions of a signal processing IC can be detected.

Rangefinder apparatus

Reflected light of each light beam projected toward an object at a distance to be measured is detected to provide a far signal and a near signal, and the far signal is compared with a preset clamp signal. The larger signal resulting from the comparison is outputted from a clamping circuit and a ratio of the output signal and the near signal is calculated to obtain an output ratio signal. Output ratio signals for light emissions from a light projecting unit are accumulated in an integration to produce an integral signal. The integral signal is transformed to a distance signal according to the distance by transformation equations selected based on whether the number of clamp signals outputted as output signals from the clamping circuit during the integration is larger than a set number. Ranging accuracy is improved by transforming the integral signal to the distance signal according to the distance by the transformation equations based on whether the number of clamp signals outputted as output signals from the clamping circuit during the integration of output ratio signals is larger than the set number.

Distance measuring apparatus

To record images by a film recording system and an electronic recording system with one light-emission of a flashing device, the flashing device is controlled according to set values of photo film recording conditions since the sensitivity of a silver halide film is different from that of an imaging device. Information about exposure control of the electronic recording system is transmitted from a CPU that is equivalent to a controlling device of the film recording system to a CPU of the electronic recording system, and the electronic recording system sets a CCD aperture, a CCD gain and so on according to the information.

Hybrid camera

A timing pulse (DSCEXP signal) that is synchronous with a vertical driving signal (VD) of a CCD is sent from an electronic imaging device (DSC) to a CPU of a silver halide recording device (APS). A CPU of the DSC synchronizes the image-capturing of the CCD and the shutter-operation of the APS when the nth pulse (for example, the second pulse) of the vertical driving signal is generated since a command for exposure timing generated by the full press of a shutter release button is received. When an outside luminance is higher than a reference value and an electronic flash is to be used, there is a time lag for one vertical driving signal between the image-capturing of the CCD and the shutter-operation of the APS.

An electric current is supplied from a power source to a motor for transporting a film through a switching element (a transistor). A regenerate current is generated from the motor when the current supply is cut, and the regenerate current is returned to the motor through a switching element (a first MOS FET). The switching elements are turned on and off according to the state of a second MOS FET. When the second MOS FET is turned on, the transistor is turned on and the first MOS FET is turned off, and this drives the motor. When the second MOS FET is turned off, the transistor is turned off and the first MOS FET is turned on, and this stops the motor.

Photo film transporting device

A camera has a bar code reader for reading a bar code from a roll film loaded therein. Bar code data read from the bar code is checked out whether it has a proper format or not. If the bar code data read from the bar code of the loaded roll film is proper, the bar code data is written in a nonvolatile memory, and the camera is set up in accordance with the bar code data. The bar code data of the nonvolatile memory is renewed each time proper bar code data is obtained. If the bar code data read from the bar code of the loaded roll film is improper, a display device displays film data represented by bar code data having been stored in the nonvolatile memory, along with an error indicia. If the displayed film data is invalid for the loaded roll film, the photographer enters film data of the loaded roll film through manual operation switches. Then, the camera is set up with the manually entered film data. If no film data is manually entered, the camera is set up in accordance with the displayed film data.

Camera with bar code reader

A D/A converter performs a D/A conversion on digital light quantity indication data outputted from a CPU to generate an analog light quantity indication signal. The analog light quantity indication signal thus generated is supplied to both a power supply circuit and a light quantity control circuit comprising a photometric sensor, an integration circuit, and a comparison circuit. The light quantity control circuit outputs to a flash light emission circuit a light emission stop signal at the time point when the integrated quantity of light reaches a threshold according to the light quantity indication signal.

Camera

In a camera wherein a lens cap is detachably attached there are provided first and second photometric sensors on a lens barrel and the camera main frame, respectively. It is detected in accordance with the photometric values by the first and second photometric sensors whether the lens cap is mounted. According to the camera, it is possible to detect with great accuracy whether the lens cap is mounted, with a standard type lens cap.

An auto-focus camera performs a focusing and a photometry when a shutter button is half depressed in an auto-focus mode. In this case, when an MF button is depressed, a result value of the focusing is held as long as the MF button is depressed even if the shutter button is released. When the shutter button is depressed again, only the photometry is performed. On the other hand, when the MF button is depressed in a manual focus mode, an object distance can be set by an UP/DOWN dial which is also used for setting various kinds of photographing items. The MF button is used for maintaining an AF lock, and is used for instructing the setting of the object distance in the manual-focus mode.

Auto-focus camera

In a camera of the present invention, when a shutter button is depressed half, a focusing and a photometry are executed. If the shutter button is held in a state of being depressed half, the results are retained. In this case, if an MF button is depressed, the photometry result is retained while the MF button 48 is being depressed, even if the shutter button is released. When the shutter button is depressed half again, only the photometry is performed.

A distance measuring apparatus according to the present invention comprises two types of distance measuring units, which are a first distance measuring unit of the active method for receiving reflected light of measuring light returning from an object and performing distance measurement based on a focused position thereof, and a second distance measuring unit of the passive method for receiving the natural light reflected by the object through two optical systems and performing the distance measurement based on two optical images thus obtained. The apparatus further has a luminance determining unit for determining a luminance of the external field from a photometry result, and a distance selecting device for selecting and outputting either one of distance measurement results obtained by the first distance measuring unit and second distance measuring unit as a proper distance value, based on the luminance of the external field determined by the luminance determining unit. This distance selecting device may be so arranged that the luminance of external field obtained by the luminance determining unit is determined in two levels of high level and low level. Then it selects the distance measurement result of the first distance measuring unit when the luminance of external field is determined as a low level or selects the distance measurement result of the second distance measuring unit when the luminance of external field is determined as a high level.

Apparatus and method for measuring a distance

An UP/DOWN dial is used with at least one of switches including a back cover switch detecting whether the cover switch of the camera is opened or closed, so as to also serve as a switch for driving a feed motor by the manual operation. As a result, the number of switches can be reduced. That is, the switch for driving the feed motor by the manual operation is used only when the film is set in the camera (only when the back cover opens). Therefore, if the cover switch detects that the back cover opens, the UP/DOWN dial is operated regardless of the currently-set mode, so that the feed motor can be driven.
