The heat exchanger has tubes and a header tank that is located at an end of the tubes in a longitudinal direction and communicates with the tubes. The header tank has a core plate that connects to the tubes and a tank body that is fixed to the core plate. The core plate has a tube connection surface, a sealing surface, and an inclined surface that connects the tube connection surface and the sealing surface with each other. A distance between the tube connection surface and an end surface of the tubes in the longitudinal direction is different from a distance between the sealing surface and the end surface in the longitudinal direction by disposing the inclined surface to incline with respect to the longitudinal direction. The tubes connect to the tube connection surface and the inclined surface in a condition of being inserted to the tube connection surface and the inclined surface.

A heat exchanger has a flat tube () having a curved portion (). A part of the curved portion () is formed by overlapping an outer rim () on an inner rim (). The inner rim () has a small curvature region (). The small curvature region () is inclined to a flat plate portion (), and is defined by a radius larger than a difference between a half of a thickness of the flat tube () and a thickness of the outer rim (). The small curvature region () is not beyond a center line (C) in a thickness of the flat tube (). The outer rim () extends beyond the center line (C). The outer rim () has an end face () placed on the small curvature region (). The flat tube () has flared portions () expanded at insertion holes ().

A tube for a heat exchanger is formed by bending a three-layer clad material of an aluminum alloy to have an overlapped portion. The three-layer clad material is formed by a core material layer containing Mg not smaller than 0.2 wt % after brazing, a brazing material layer on one surface of the core material layer, and a high melting-point material layer on the other surface of the core material layer. The brazing material layer has a thickness not smaller than 25 &#x3bc;m before the brazing, and has a melting point lower than 600&#xb0; C. The high melting-point material layer has a melting point equal to or higher than 600&#xb0; C. In addition, the brazing material layer and the high melting-point material layer opposite to each other in the overlapped portion are bonded by the brazing at a temperature not lower than 450&#xb0; C. for a time within 12 minutes.

Tube and heat exchanger using the same, and method of manufacturing tube

An aluminum alloy brazing sheet having high strength comprising: a core alloy; an Al&#x2014;Si-based filler alloy cladded on one side or both sides of the core alloy, wherein the core alloy is composed of an aluminum alloy containing 0.3-1.2% (mass %, the same applies the below) Si, 0.05-0.4% Fe, 0.3-1.2% Cu, 0.3-1.8% Mn, 0.05-0.6% Mg, and containing one or more elements selected from the group consisting of 0.02-0.3% Ti, 0.02-0.3% Zr, 0.02-0.3% Cr and 0.02-0.3% V, the balance of Al and unavoidable impurities; and wherein, after the aluminum alloy brazing sheet is subjected to brazing, the core alloy features a metallic structure in which a density of intermetallic compounds having a grain diameter of at least 0.1 &#x3bc;m is at most ten grains per &#x3bc;m.

Aluminum alloy brazing sheet having high-strength and production method therefor

An aluminum alloy brazing sheet which has a clad of a sacrificial anode material/a core alloy/an intermediate material/a filler alloy, wherein number density ratios N/Nand N/Neach are 1.5 or more, in which a number density ((the number of grains)/&#x3bc;m) of an intermetallic compound having a sphere-equivalent grain diameter of 0.1 &#x3bc;m or less present in the core alloy, the intermediate material, and the sacrificial anode material, is represented by N, N, and N, respectively.

Aluminum alloy brazing sheet

A protruding portion protruding toward the outside a tank is formed on a core plate in a range corresponding to a straight portion of a flat tube inserted and joined to the core plate. Due to this structure, a joining portion of the tube to the core plate is three-dimensionally formed and a joining portion length is extended. Therefore, thermal stress generated in the tube can be diffused from the joining portion of the tube to the core plate.

A projection portion () protruding from a bottom surface) on a core portion side towards the center of the core portion () is formed in a core plate (). A bond portion () between a tube () and the core plate () is arranged closer to the center side of the core portion () than the bottom surface () and at substantially the same position in a tube longitudinal direction X with respect to a push surface () of a packing (). Therefore, even when a load in a direction intersecting at right angles the tube longitudinal direction is applied to a formation portion of a fitting groove portion (), the occurrence of a bending moment can be suppressed.

A plurality of angle portionsof the fins on an upstream side and those on a downstream side of an air flow are provided so as to be substantially symmetrical with each other. Due to this, bending forces are continuously exerted on a thin plate-like fin material in a direction where the bending deformation of the fin material is cancelled, during the fin forming process. Accordingly, when the angle portionsare formed it can be prevented in advance that the fin materialis deformed in a state where the repeated deformations of the fin materialare accumulated in the same direction.

Heat exchanger and heat transferring member with symmetrical angle portions

A heat exchanger module includes a first heat exchanger disposed at a downstream air side of second and third heat exchangers. In the heat exchanger module, walls are formed in reinforcement plates of the second and third heat exchangers, to be approximately perpendicular to a cooling air flow direction. Further, communication holes through which air passes are provided in the walls of the reinforcement plates. Accordingly, a sufficient amount of air for heat exchange can be supplied to the first heat exchanger, while the second and third heat exchangers can be reinforced enough by the reinforcement plates.

A fan shroudis assembled to a cooling module in such a way that the fan shroudcovers bracketsthat have been assembled to the cooling module, that is, a radiatorand a condenserand, at the same time, snap fitsand a vehicle body prevent the fan shroudfrom being detached from the brackets. In this way, it is possible to easily assemble the cooling module and the fan shroudand, therefore, it is also possible to improve the workability in assembling or disassembling the cooling module and the fan shroud

Bracketsmade of resin are provided between the radiatorand the condenserand the heat exchangersandare secured to the bracketsso that heat transfer from the radiatorto the condensercan be restricted and reduction of the cooling efficiency of the condensercan be prevented. The radiatorand the condenserare assembled with and secured to the bracketsso that the position of the condenserwith respect to the radiatorcan be easily determined. Therefore, the assembling of the cooling module can be facilitated and no heat exchange between the radiatorand the condensercan be restricted due to a predetermined space provided between the coreof the radiatorand the coreof the condenser

A wave-shaped portion, the profile of which is formed into a wave-shape, is provided on the core plate, and tubes are brazed to the core plateunder the condition that the tubes are inserted into holesformed in bent portions. Due to the above structure, even when a pitch between the tubes is reduced, it is possible to ensure a sufficiently high mechanical strength of the core plate. Accordingly, the occurrence of a big difference in the mechanical strength between the core plateand the tubes can be suppressed. Therefore, stress concentration at a joint portion of the core plateand the tubes can be prevented. As a result, the mechanical strength of a radiator and the reliability (durability) of the joint portion of the core plateand the tubes can be enhanced.

Heat exchanger and method of manufacturing core plate

In the finon the front grille side which is an upstream side of the air current, there is provided a reinforcing portionformed when the finis made into a wave-shape. By this reinforcing portion, it is possible to prevent the core portion(fin) from being deformed by water at high pressure. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the thickness of the finwhile the deformation of the finis prevented even if washing is conducted with water at high pressure.

A tapered section and a flange section which constitute reinforcements are provided on mounting members to which a blower (fan shroud) is to be attached. The reinforcements are provided on the sides of the reinforcements which are in contact with a longer side wall surface of a rectangular tank. According to this structure, it is possible to prevent the longer side wall surface from deforming, while mitigating the concentration of stress to the joint portions between the mounting members and the longer side wall surface. Therefore, the mechanical strength, reliability and durability of the header tank can be improved without increasing the mass (weight) and production cost of the radiator.
