A rotor includes a rotor core fixed to a shaft, a pair of magnet slots arranged in a V-shape in the rotor core so as to be separated away from each other toward a radially outer side, permanent magnets inserted into the magnet slots, and a hole provided on the radially outer side of the magnet slots. The distance between each permanent magnet and the hole increases toward the radially outer side. The distance between an outer circumference of the rotor core and the hole is not less than the distance between each magnet slot and the outer circumference of the rotor core.

Rotating electric machine

In a rotor in which magnet slots arranged in a V shape so as to open toward the outer circumferential side and having permanent magnets inserted therein are formed in a two-layer structure in a radial direction, the magnet slots in each layer are composed of a pair of slots formed between a center bridge located at the center and respective ones of two radially-outer bridges located between the outer surface of the rotor and the respective slots. Of magnetic fluxes generated from the permanent magnets, magnetic fluxes excluding magnetic fluxes for magnetically saturating the bridges are defined as effective magnetic fluxes. The rotor is configured such that the effective magnetic flux generated from the permanent magnet on the radially outer side is not greater than half the effective magnetic flux generated from the permanent magnet on the radially inner side.

A rotation angle detection device including: a rotor; a stator including 'b' (b&#x2265;3) magnetic detection portions (MDPs) each including a bias magnetic field generation portion and a magnetic detection element (MDE); and a rotation angle processor calculating a rotation angle of the rotor based on a detection by the (MDEs). The rotor has convex and concave portions (CCPs), which change in 'x' cycles for a mechanical angle 360 (&#x201c;x&#x201d;&#x2265;1) to make the MDEs possible to obtain a sine wave. A portable terminal obtains a first code used to obtain provision information and a second code, different from the first code, from a communication device. The portable terminal transmits the first and second codes to an information processing device, receives the provision information from the information processing device as a response to the transmission, and outputs the received provision information. A method and an apparatus capable of measuring the density of steam within a steam pipe even in limited environmental conditions such as in a steam injection well. A vessel which accommodates therein first and second neutron detectors disposed in mutual longitudinal alignment with a neutron source interposed therebetween and in which the second detector is covered with a neutron shield capable of absorbing thermal neutrons while allowing epithermal neutrons to penetrate therethrough is inserted into the steam pipe together with a thermal neutron shielding sheet completely encircling the vessel. From the neutrons which were emitted from the neutron source and passed out and back through the neutron shield and the steam region, those epithermal neutrons which have not undergone transformation to thermal neutrons within the steam region are detected by both the first and second detectors, while the thermal neutrons resulting from the transformation are detected by the first detector only. The steam density is determined on the basis of a cadmium ratio derived from the counts of the two detectors.

Method and apparatus for measuring steam density by neutron method

A fish meat product similar in taste and texture to shrimp which contains from about 15 to about 45 parts by weight of wavy fish gel fibers, from about 15 to about 50 parts by weight of linear fish gel fibers, and from about 30 to about 55 parts by weight of a fish paste binder is disclosed. The wavy fibers range from about 1.0 to about 4.0 mm in diameter, and the linear fibers range from about 0.3 to about 3.0 mm in thickness on each side. The fish gel from which the fibers are made is prepared from surimi by the use of a process which is very similar to that employed in preparing 'Kamaboko,' and an intermediate product in this process is a fish paste which is used as the binder. The foregoing components are mixed in the foregoing ratio. The resultant mixture is formed into the shape of peeled shrimp, coated on the surface with an appropriate coloring agent, and heated.
