A microscope system includes an eyepiece, an objective, a tube lens, an imaging apparatus, a projection apparatus that projects a projection image onto an image plane between the tube lens and the eyepiece on which an optical image is formed, and a control apparatus. The control apparatus manages microscope information including at least a first magnification at which an image of the sample is projected onto the image plane, a second magnification at which an image of the sample is projected onto the imaging apparatus, a third magnification at which an image of the projection apparatus is projected onto the image plane, and sizes of the imaging apparatus and the projection apparatus. The control apparatus includes a processor. The processor generates projection image data representing the projection image based on at least the microscope information.

A microscope system comprising an eyepiece, an objective that guides light from a sample to the eyepiece, a tube lens that is disposed on a light path between the eyepiece and the objective and forms an optical image of the sample on the basis of light therefrom, a projection apparatus that projects a projection image including a first assistance image onto an image plane on which the optical image is formed, and a processor that performs processes. The processes include generating projection image data representing the projection image. The first assistance image is an image of the sample in which a region wider than an actual field of view corresponding to the optical image is seen, The first assistance image is projected onto a portion of the image plane that is close to an outer edge of the optical image.

A microscope systemincludes an eyepiece, an objectivethat guides light from a sample to the eyepiece, and a tube lensthat is disposed on a light path between the eyepieceand the objectiveand forms an optical image of the sample on the basis of light therefrom. The processes include performing for digital image data of the sample at least one analysis process selected from a plurality of analysis processes, and generating projection image data representing the projection image on the basis of the analysis result and the at least one analysis process. The projection image data indicates the analysis result in a display format including an image color corresponding to the at least one analysis process. The generating the projection image data includes determining a color for the projection image in accordance with the at least one analysis process selected from the plurality of analysis processes.

An illumination-area switching mechanism is disposed between the objective lens and the specimen and switches an illumination area irradiated with the illumination light focused by the objective lens among a plurality of illumination areas on the specimen that are located outside an objective optical axis of the objective lens. An inner focus lens is disposed on the objective optical axis between the light source and the objective lens and changes a focus position of the objective lens in a direction along the objective optical axis.

A microscope apparatus organizes and stores a plurality of types of image information acquired by a plurality of image acquisition methods at different timings. The microscope apparatus includes a time counting unit for counting time, a plurality of different image acquisition units, and a storage unit for storing image information, when acquired by any one of the image acquisition units, and timing information counted by the time counting unit, by having them associated with each other. Even if the image acquisition units acquire different types of image information at different timings, the timing information can be used to call up the image information stored in the storage unit in a chronological order.

A laser scanning microscope includes a culture vessel that accommodates a specimen and is capable of maintaining an interior temperature and humidity thereof, and an optical system space adjacent and optically connected to the culture vessel. The optical system space includes a scanner that two-dimensionally scans ultrashort pulsed laser light across the specimen; an objective lens that focuses the scanned ultrashort pulsed laser light on the specimen and collects light coming from the specimen; a dichroic mirror, disposed between the scanner and the objective lens, that splits off the light coming from the specimen from the laser light; a photodetector that detects the split-off light coming from the specimen; and an outer cover, provided so as to surround the optical system space, that blocks light coming from outside the optical system space.

A laser scanning microscope includes a stage that moves a sample placed thereon, a laser light source that emits laser light, a line-focus optical system that focuses the laser light into a line shape, a DMD including a plurality of movable micromirrors that are arrayed in the lengthwise direction of the line shape and that reflect the line-focused laser light, an irradiation optical system that irradiates the sample with the laser light reflected by the DMD, and a photodetector in which a plurality of channels for detecting light from the sample are arrayed in one column, wherein the DMD is driven so that a plurality of micromirrors simultaneously reflect the laser light and so that micromirrors that reflect the laser light are sequentially switched, wherein the stage moves the sample in a direction crossing the array direction of a plurality of light spots formed on the sample.

A confocal microscope apparatus comprises a first optical scanning system which obtains a scan image of a sample using a laser beam from a first laser light source, a second optical scanning system which scans specific regions of a sample with a laser beam from a second laser light source that is different from the first laser light source, thereby causing a particular phenomenon, and a beam diameter varying mechanism which can change the beam diameter of the laser beam of at least one of the first optical scanning system and the second optical scanning system. With this configuration, the apparatus further comprises an excitation light intensity distribution calculator which calculates and stores the excitation light intensity distribution along a depth direction on the sample surface from the beam diameter of the laser beam output from the beam diameter varying mechanism.

A scanning microscope device includes a light source that emits laser light; an X-Y galvanometer mirror that scans the laser light on a sample; an objective lens that irradiates the sample with the scanned laser light and collects fluorescence generated at an irradiated position; a non-descan-detection excitation DM that is disposed between the X-Y galvanometer mirror and the objective lens and separates the laser light and the fluorescence from each other; a fiber that receives the separated fluorescence through an entrance end thereof and emits the fluorescence from an exit end thereof that is formed in a substantially linear shape; a diffraction grating that disperses the fluorescence emitted from the exit end of the fiber in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the exit end; and a multi-anode PMT having plural cells arrayed in the dispersing direction of the dispersed fluorescence.

Scanning microscope device

To enable both observations of coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering light and multiphoton fluorescence in a same apparatus so as to observe a specimen by various observation methods. There is provided a laser microscope apparatus comprising: two optical paths for guiding pulsed laser beams having two different frequencies whose frequency difference is approximately equal to a specific molecular vibration frequency in a specimen; a multiplexer for combining the pulsed laser beams guided through these two optical paths; and a frequency dispersion adjuster which is provided on at least one of these two optical paths, and is capable of adjustment to approximately equalize frequency dispersion quantities of the pulsed laser beams guided through the two optical paths.
