The present invention relates to a blood analysis apparatus X for measuring concentrations of glucose and glycohemoglobin in blood. The blood analysis apparatus X is configured to perform the concentration measurement of the glucose and the glycohemoglobin by one sampling of blood. The blood analysis apparatus X is preferably configured to simultaneously carry out sample preparations for concentration measurement of the glucose and the glycohemoglobin by one sample preparation. The blood analysis apparatus X may be configured to perform dilution of a blood sample for measuring the glycohemoglobin and dilution of a blood sample for measuring the glucose using the same diluent.

A measuring apparatus for measuring a predetermined physical property of a liquid measuring sample comprises a preparing unit in which a plurality of materials including at least a liquid material are mixed; a supply route which supplies the liquid material to the preparing unit; a withdrawing unit which withdraws the measuring sample from the preparing unit into the supply route, the measuring sample being prepared to contain the liquid material supplied to the preparing unit via the supply route; and a measuring unit which measures the predetermined physical property of the measuring sample withdrawn into the supply route by the withdrawing unit.

A method of effecting lysis of acid-fast bacteria, comprising heating acid-fast bacteria in a liquid containing a non-ionic surfactant at a temperature of below the boiling point of the liquid. This method enables accomplishing secure lysis of acid-fast bacteria in a simple manner within a short period of time without the use of special apparatus and agent and enables extracting genes. The heating is preferably conducted at 96&#xb0; C. for 10 min. As the nonionic surfactant, use can be made of a d-sorbitol fatty acid ester, a polyoxyethylene glycol sorbitan alkyl ester, a polyoxyethylene glycol p-t-octylphenyl ether or the like. The pH value of the liquid is preferably 8, and the liquid preferably contains EDTA. It is also preferred that before the heating, the acid-fast bacteria be treated with lipase.
