An image processing device that generates a second output image signal output to a second liquid crystal panel that is disposed to be superposed on a first liquid crystal panel, includes: a first corrector that generates a gamma correction signal in which a gradation value of an input image signal is corrected; a detector that receives the gamma correction signal and detects an image region brighter than surroundings as a first high-frequency portion from the gamma correction signal; and a second corrector that receives the gamma correction signal and a detection result of the detector and performs correction to decrease the gradation value of the first high-frequency portion in the gamma correction signal. The second output image signal is generated based on the gamma correction signal corrected by the second corrector.

Image processing device and liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display device includes: first and second liquid crystal panels disposed to be overlapped with each other; a parallax reduction unit that generates the second output image signal by performing smoothing processing on a first signal based on the input image signal; a first temporal filter that generates a first response correction signal determining the first output image signal based on the second output image signal; and a corrector that generates the first output image signal based on at least the first response correction signal and a second signal based on the input image signal. The first temporal filter generates the first response correction signal of a current frame based on the second output image signal of the current frame and the first response correction signal of a previous frame.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display device includes: a display unit including a first liquid crystal panel and a second liquid crystal panel disposed on a rear surface side of the first liquid crystal panel; and an image processor that generates first and second output image signals respectively output to the first and second liquid crystal panels based on an input image signal. The image processor includes; a distributor that distributes the input image signal into first and second distribution image signals used to generate the first and second output image signals, respectively; and a first unevenness corrector that generates the first output image signal by performing first unevenness correction to prevent display unevenness of the display unit on the first distribution image signal output from the distributor, and outputs the generated first output image signal to the first liquid crystal panel.

A liquid crystal (LC) display device includes a first display panel, a second display panel, and an image processor. The image processor generates first image data and second image data that correspond to a first image and a second image for display on the first display panel and the second display panel, respectively. The image processor includes a first image data decision unit that decides the first image data, a filter that decides a correction factor, and a second image data decision unit that decides the second image data based on smoothed image data and the correction factor. A method for displaying an image in a LC display device with a first display panel and a second display panel includes determining first image data based on smoothed input image data, and determining second image data based on the smoothed input image data and a correction factor.

Multi-panel liquid crystal display device and method for displaying image therein

An image display device includes: a display; gate signal lines including a first pixel row and a second pixel row; a gate driver; data signal lines; a source driver; and a controller that determines whether the second pixel row has correlation with the first pixel row in an image. When determining that the second pixel row has the correlation with the first pixel row, the controller causes the source driver to supply the data voltage corresponding to the first pixel row, causes the gate driver to supply the gate signal to write the data voltage in the first pixel row, and causes the gate driver to supply the gate signal to write the data voltage corresponding to the first pixel row in the second pixel row.

Provided is a display system, including: a display device configured to display an image; and a transmission device configured to simultaneously transmit, to the display device, first image data of a first frame and second image data of a second frame that is one frame before the first frame, the display device including: an overdrive processing unit configured to receive the first image data and the second image data transmitted from the transmission device, and to execute overdrive processing on the first image data based on the received first image data and the received second image data, to thereby generate display data; and a display panel configured to display an image based on the display data generated by the overdrive processing unit.
