An information processing device that controls a display in two or more display areas, which do not overlap one another and include at least a first display area and a second display area, is provided. The information processing device includes: a display mode switching unit that switches between: a first display mode in which the display areas are controlled as one combined display area, and a second display mode in which the display is controlled as two display areas of at least the first display area and the second display area; and a display control unit.

An object of the present invention is to suppress wasted power consumption while improving user friendliness for an on/off operation of an image projection device. A method for switching access points of a wireless network via sharing communications is disclosed. A host computer and a client computer are connected to a first wireless network by a first communication system. The host computer determines a communication quality to the first wireless network. If the communication quality falls below a predetermined value, the host computer connects to a second wireless network to shift to a sharing communication mode to connect the client computer to the second wireless network. The host computer that has shifted to the sharing communication mode then connects to the client computer by a second communication system to connect the client to the second wireless network.

A method for switching connections between an IP-only phone and a soft phone to an IP gateway server is disclosed. An identical telephone number is allocated to the IP-only phone and the soft phone. When the soft phone has been moved such that a connection destination to a local-area network changes from a first connector to a second connector, a relay device is also changed from a first relay device to a second relay device. After recognizing its present position by a MAC address of the relay device to which it is currently connected, the soft phone issues a request to an IP gateway server to change an IP address to the soft phone when it is determined that the soft phone is located far away from the IP-only phone. When it is determined that the soft phone is located near the IP-only phone, the soft phone issues a request to the IP gateway server so that the IP address is changed to the IP-only phone.

Setting information is transferred to an information processing apparatus from another information processing apparatus. The method, which switches a display signal output destination between a plurality of display devices connected to an information processing apparatus, has (a) a first resolution control step of examining a physical maximum resolution for each of the plurality of display devices that are connected to the information handling apparatus, and storing the examined physical maximum resolutions respectively; (b) a second resolution control step of determining a maximum resolution (maximum static resolution) that is used for the allocation of a screen buffer; (c) a selection step of designating one of the plurality of display devices as an display signal output destination in accordance with an instruction from a user; (d) a third resolution control step of determining a maximum resolution (maximum dynamic resolution) in accordance with a display ability of software for which a screen display is currently being performed; and (e) a resolution determination step of setting a physical resolution of the display device designated, at the step (c), as the display signal output destination, to a lower resolution of either the physical maximum resolution stored at the step (a) or the maximum dynamic resolution determined at the step (d).
