A movable contact positioned in a sealed case is moved together with a movable contact spring provided with an armature by a magnetic shunt body which is moved outside the sealed case. The movement of the movable contact (movement of the movable contact spring) due to the movement of the magnetic shunt body is based on the change of the magnetically attracting force of a magnet with respect to the armature through a pair of yokes. The movable contact spring is provided with a bent portion which is bent in spaced-apart relation to the armature, the bent portion being provided between a fulcrum portion at a time when the movable contact spring moves and a portion where the armature is provided.

Switch device

A movable contact which is positioned inside a sealing case is moved by a magnetic shunt body which moves outside the sealing case. The movement of the movable contact by the movement of the magnetic shunt body is caused by a change of magnetic force of a magnet through a pair of yokes. The magnetic shunt body is assembled to a moving member, and elastically moves around the moving member resisting a first spring.

Magnetic attractive force of a magnet exerted on a movable contact in a sealing case through yokes changes as a result of movement of a magnetic shunt element induced by movement of a movable element located outside the sealing case. As a result, the movable contact can be brought into or out of contact with a stationary contact without involvement of entry of the movable element into the sealing case.

Switching device

An electromagnetic relay is provided which is small in size and is capable of controlling two circuits of an ordinarily-open contact, which has a large current-carrying capacity and high interrupting capability, and which is excellent in resistance against shock and vibration. Movable contactors are held, through bow-shaped movable contactor springs, to two-shaped holding frames each being electrically separated and being mechanically connected via a card made of a highly heat-resistant resin in a card block. Thick-plate shaped movable contacts, which are attached to the movable contactors in a fixed manner, are electrically connected or disconnected to fixed contacts in a base block, in synchronization with operations of an armature of an electro-magnet block. In order to improve a current-carrying capability and interrupting capability, there are provided two pieces of ordinarily-open contacts which are connected in series to each other, and between which an interval is doubled, in each of two circuits.

Electromagnetic relay

An electromagnetic relay is provided which allows free design of arrangements of each external connecting terminal and is capable of effectively dissipating heat from a base and suppressing a rise in temperatures within the electromagnetic relay. The electro-magnetic relay includes a core, a coil, a yoke, an armature, an electromagnetic block made up of a movable spring having a movable contact mechanically coupled to the armature, a pair of fixed contacts made up of an ordinarily closed fixed contact and an ordinarily opened fixed contact both being contacted with the movable contact, a group of external connecting terminals, a base, and an armored cover, wherein the movable spring and the yoke make up part of a current-carrying path, and a yoke extended portion is in direct mechanical contact with the movable contact external connecting terminal and the ordinarily closed fixed contact is mechanically coupled to an ordinarily closed fixed contact external connecting terminal.

A variable optical attenuator comprises an incoming fiber for propagating an incoming light beam, a mirror for reflecting the incoming light beam as a reflected light beam and an outgoing fiber for propagating as an outgoing light beam at least one part of the reflected light beam. The light intensity of the outgoing light beam is determined by the angle of reflection at the mirror. The angle of reflection at the mirror is adjusted by an actuator for rotating the mirror. The actuator comprises a plate, a coil, a housing and permanents magnets. The mirror and the coil are fixed on the plate. The housing supports the plate so that the plate is able to rotate around a rotation axis, which is included on a predetermined plane. The permanent magnets are fixed on the housing and generate predetermined magnetic flux density along the predetermined plane. When a driving current is supplied to the coil under the predetermined magnetic flux density, a Lorentz force occurs at the coil so as to rotate the coil. Together with the coil, the mirror rotates so that the light intensity of the outgoing light beam can be adjusted.

Variable optical attenuator

An electromagnetic sound generator is proposed that can be easily and inexpensively fabricated for producing an indicating sound to enable use in an automobile or other similar environment. A spool ( ) on which a coil ( ) has been wound, a core ( ) that is movable up and down, and a round spring ( ) are installed inside a cup-shaped yoke ( ); whereby supplying or cutting off the supply of current to the coil ( ) causes the core ( ) to strike, in single beats in accordance with drive, against the yoke ( ) itself or on the side of spring ( ) to produce a sound. The yoke ( ), which is the magnetic circuit for driving, also serves as a sound generator, and the provision of openings such as slits in the upper surface and side surfaces of the cup-shaped yoke ( ) enhances sound effects such as the tone, volume and direction of emission of the generated sound. When converting a directional indicator for an automobile to electronic circuits, the present invention enables the production of a sound for checking operation of the directional indicator that resembles the sound of a relay-type directional indicator.

Electromagnetic sound generator

An electromagnetic relay apparatus, which is improved in miniaturization, performance, assembly accuracy, cost reduction, productivity, and reliability. A plurality of electromagnetic relays, each having an NO contact that is closed by applying exciting current to a coil and an NC contact that is closed when the excitation current is not passed through the coil, are arranged in line, one diagonally opposite to the next, on a base so that the respective NO/NC contacts of adjacent electromagnetic relays are located in diagonally opposed positions in substantially point symmetrical relation. The electromagnetic relay includes an electromagnetic block having a couple of moving contacts, a first stationary contact and a second stationary contact both being connectable to external wiring, which are composed of uniform parts or components.

Electromagnetic relay apparatus

An electromagnetic relay and a circuit substrate comprising the same are disclosed, for preventing erroneous operation when they are wet by water, at low cost. The electromagnetic relay comprises a case having fluid-tight characteristics; an excitation coil provided in the case; and electrodes connected to both ends of the excitation coil in a manner such that at least a portion of each electrodes is formed outside the case and is exposed to an area where a liquid can penetrate.

Electromagnetic relay and circuit substrate comprising the same

A micro-machine switch which causes a contact electrode to make contact with or separate away from a signal line formed on a substrate, to thereby turn on or off the signal line, includes (a) first to N-th lower electrodes formed on the substrate, wherein N is an integer equal to or greater than 2, (b) first to N-th upper electrodes supported facing the first to N-th lower electrodes, respectively, and (c) an electrode supporter for vertically raising and lowering the first to N-th upper electrodes between a first position where the contact electrode makes contact with the signal line when electrostatic force is generated between the first to N-th upper electrodes and the first to N-th lower electrodes, respectively, and a second position where the contact electrode is separated away from the signal line when the electrostatic force is not generated.

Micro-machine (MEMS) switch with electrical insulator

A electromagnetic relay includes a spool, a coil, a U-shaped yoke, an armature, a movable contact, a pair of stationary contacts, and a taper. The spool has an inner hole and first and second flange portions formed at its two ends. The coil is wound on the spool. The yoke is locked at the flange portions of the spool by press fitting to stride over the coil. The armature is movably connected to one end of the yoke and positioned to extend through the inner hole of the spool. The movable contact is attached to move in an interlocked manner with the armature. The pair of stationary contacts are arranged to sandwich the movable contact. The taper is formed on at least one of press-fit locking surfaces of one end of the yoke and the first flange portion, and has a locking force that increases as being closer to a vicinity of the inner hole of the spool. A method of adjusting an electromagnetic relay, and a method of assembling an electromagnetic relay are also disclosed.

Electromagnetic relay, method of adjusting the same, and method of assembling the same

An electromagnetic relay includes a spool, a coil wound on the spool, an armature inserted in the through hole of the spool, a yoke fixed to the spool by fitting, hinge springs, a movable spring, a hinge spring fixing portion, an attaching/fixing portion, and at least one terminal. The armature operates upon excitation of the coil. The yoke has first and second opposing upright portions. One end of the armature is in contact with an end face of the first upright portion, and the other end thereof opposes the end face of the second upright portion. The hinge springs set the armature at a predetermined angle with respect to the yoke, and urge one end of the armature against the end face of the first upright portion to ensure magnetic connection. The movable spring has a movable contact and extends from one side of the hinge springs. The movable spring is connected to the armature. The hinge spring fixing portion extends from the ends side of the hinge springs that are not connected to the movable spring, to support them and the movable spring. The attaching/fixing portion attaches and fixes the hinge spring fixing portion on the first upright portion by a single operation. The terminal member is fixed to one end portion of the spool by press fitting and has a stationary contact adjacent to the movable contact.

An electromagnetic relay having an improved resistivity to a surge comprising an enclosure member, a core provided in the enclosure member, coils winding the core through a spool, an armature showing an alternate motion to be in contact with or apart from a part of the core, and a contact member showing an alternate motion to be in contact with or apart from a part of each of contact terminals secured to the enclosure member and the contact member being electrically separated from and mechanically connected to the armature through an insulating material having an extremely large dielectric constant.

Electromagnetic relay having an improved resistivity to surge

An electromagnetic relay includes a flat base made of an insulating material, two flexure type electromagnetic relay blocks fixed on the base so as to be point symmetrical with the center of the base and having the same structure, a first contact member including two make contacts respectively opposing the movable contacts of the two electromagnetic relay blocks and at least one first terminal inserted into a first through hole formed in a central portion of the base, and a second contact member including two break contacts respectively opposing the movable contacts of the two electromagnetic relay blocks and at least one second terminal inserted into a second through hole formed in a central portion of the base.

Electromagnet relay

A miniature relay switches a very large current without causing a deterioration of nearby insulation. This is done by providing relatively large clearance spaces in the areas where particles eroding from the contacts might be deposited. Also, housing walls separate the contacts from these areas of particle deposition. Without this clearance space or walls, the deposited particles might cause a short circuit. The invention also provides many structural details which enables the miniature construction.
