A display device of electric power system information comprises a display unit including a display screen; and a screen display control unit for controlling the display unit. The display screen includes a display area that is divided into a plurality of display cells each of which has a mapping function for showing relative positional relations. The display unit includes an electric power system diagram display function unit for displaying an electric system diagram that embodies the state of an electric power system being a monitoring target, a mapping item display function unit for displaying mapping display items in the background of the electric power system diagram using the display cells, and a menu display function for displaying menus and icons, which are used for selecting the mapping display items, on the display screen, and for accepting selection operations to the menus and icons on the display cells on the display screen. The mapping display items represent information of state quantities regarding the state of the electric power system being the monitoring target, and the mapping display items are displayed per display cell with different colors in accordance with the corresponding values of state quantities.

In an electric power system with a distributed power source, a fluctuation of its system voltage is brought about by an amount of power generation of the distributed power source that depends on weather. Stabilization of the system voltage is realized by generating a driving signal of a switch that the system has from weather forecast information and power system information and switching a configuration of the system.

Color signal generating device

A display device includes a display panel including red, blue, green and white (RBGW) sub pixels, a signal conversion apparatus for converting an input signal having a first color format and color arrangement into a display signal having a second color format and color arrangement, a color conversion unit configured to convert the first color format into the second color format; a sub pixel position determining signal which determines a color arrangement of a sub pixel position of the display panel, and a sub pixel signal generation unit configured to generate a sub pixel signal having the second color format and color arrangement based on the sub pixel position determining signal.

Display signal conversion apparatus

It is expected to increase the size of a display panel and the number of tones to be displayed on the display panel, and it is requested to use a display panel displaying M (M&#x3e;3) types of colors. This requires a large memory capacity and makes a circuit for performing signal conversion complex due to an increase in the amount of data to be subjected to the signal conversion. An image memory stores image data compressed at a fixed compression rate, and the signal conversion is performed on the compressed image data. This technique reduces a memory capacity and simplifies a signal conversion circuit. The signal conversion makes it possible to improve color reproducibility of an image displayed and the quality of the image due to smoothing of the outline of the image. In the case of a display panel having sub-pixels displaying M types of colors, the signal conversion is performed on a compressed signal for each sub-pixel to improve the quality of an image.

Multi-color display device

A display signal conversion apparatus converts a first signal having a first color format and color arrangement into a second signal having a second color format and color arrangement. The display signal conversion apparatus includes a color conversion unit configured to convert the first color format into the second color format, a pattern determination unit configured to determine a signal pattern of the first signal, a unit configured to determine a color arrangement of a pixel position of the second signal corresponding to a pixel position of the first signal, and a sub pixel signal generation unit configured to generate a sub pixel signal having the second color format and color arrangement based on a result of the signal pattern determination and a result of the color arrangement determination.

A display apparatus is arranged to have pixels, each of which has a RGBW (Red, Green, Blue and White) wavelength distribution characteristic, located two-dimensionally. The display apparatus includes an input unit for inputting a signal for controlling a using ratio of a W signal, a color signal converting unit for calculating a RGBW driving signal from a RGB input signal and the W using ratio. The RGBW signal is calculated so as to control the contribution of the W signal to the image quality. A display device configured to realize a high display quality by correcting irregularity, caused by a lighting unit, by signal processing. The target light quantity in a displayed image of the liquid crystal panel is set, the estimated light quantity at each pixel location in the plane of the backlight is calculated, matrix coefficients are calculated based on the estimated light quantity and the target light quantity, image signals are subjected to matrix operations using the matrix coefficients, and the liquid crystal panel is driven by image signals resulting from the matrix operations. Therefore, the light quantity distribution in the displayed image becomes identical to the target light quantity distribution.

Display device which reduces variation in chromaticity of red, blue, and green LEDs

A lighting device includes at least two lines connected in parallel, a constant current source for applying a constant current to at least one of the at least two lines, an ON/OFF controller, and a voltage detector for measuring a value of voltage flowing in each line of the at least two lines. Each line of the at least two lines is formed by one or more light-emitting diodes and a switch for turning ON/OFF the current flowing in the light-emitting diodes connected in series, and according to the voltage value of each line of the at least two lines measured by the voltage detector, the ON/OFF controller controls the duty ratio of the one or more light-emitting diodes of each line in accordance with the voltage measured.

A liquid crystal display apparatus that includes a liquid crystal display panel having a liquid crystal layer held between a pair of substrates, a light source whose brightness is controllable, and a normalization processing circuit that converts an image signal to a normalized signal and to a normalization coefficient. In addition, the display apparatus includes an LCD driving circuit that converts the normalized signal to an LCD driving signal for driving the liquid crystal display panel, and a light source driving circuit that converts the normalization coefficient to a light source driving signal for driving the light source. The normalization coefficient is used to set pixel values in a blanking interval of a display screen, and the normalized signal is used to set pixel values in a display area of the display screen.
