A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display panel having a substrate to which an optical sheet is affixed, a protective plate disposed so that the optical sheet intervenes between the protective plate and the substrate and so that a predetermined space is formed between the protective plate and the optical sheet, a spacer disposed between the liquid crystal display panel and the protective plate, and a resin layer in a region enclosed by the spacer that is polymerized after filling. The area of the substrate is greater than the area of the optical sheet. The spacer has a frame shape corresponding to the outer shape of the optical sheet. And the spacer is located on edges of the optical sheet such that inner end faces of the spacer are located inward relative to outer end faces of the optical sheet.

Liquid crystal display apparatus including a resin layer in a region enclosed by a spacer between an optical sheet and a protective plate

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a protective plate to protect the panel, a resin layer to join them, and a support having an opening corresponding to a screen area of the panel. The panel is disposed on one side of the support so that the screen area faces the opening. A peripheral portion of the panel is fixed to the support. The plate has such projecting widths that the peripheral portion thereof is overlapped on the periphery of the opening. The plate is arranged on the other side of the support with the peripheral portion thereof being fixed to the support through spacers provided between the support and plate to surround the opening at intervals. Some spacers are continuously formed extending from the edge of the opening to the edge of the plate. The resin layer is charged into the opening and a region surrounded by the spacers.

Protective plate integrated display apparatus

A protective plate integrated display apparatus includes a display panel, a protective plate to protect the observation side surface of the panel, a resin layer charged into a gap between the panel and plate to join them, and a plate-like support member having an opening corresponding to a screen area of the panel. The panel is disposed on one surface side of the support member so that the screen area faces the opening and a peripheral portion of the observation side surface is continuously fixed to the support member over the whole periphery through a frame-like adhesive layer continuously surrounding the whole periphery of the opening. The plate is arranged on the other surface side of the support member with its peripheral portion being fixed to the support member. The resin layer is charged into the opening of the support member and a region surrounded by the adhesive layer.

A display device includes a display panel to display an image, a protection plate that is arranged on an observation side of the display panel with a predetermined gap with respect to the display panel, spacer that is arranged between the display panel and the protection plate to surround a region that corresponds to a screen area of the display panel, and a filler layer filling the region that is surrounded by the spacer of a gap between the display panel and the protection plate. The spacer includes at least one missing portion to connect an inside and an outside of the region to each other. The filler layer has been polymerized by irradiation of light and heating.

Display device integral with protection plate, and display apparatus using the same

A protection plate integrated liquid crystal display panel, including: a liquid crystal display panel having an optical sheet stuck thereto so as to be overlapped with the whole of a screen area; a protection plate arranged to be opposed to the optical sheet of the liquid crystal display panel; a spacer including a first layer arranged on an outside of the screen area between the optical sheet and the protection plate and a second layer arranged between the first layer and the protection plate; and a resin layer filled up and polymerized between the liquid crystal display panel and the protection plate in an area enclosed with the spacer. The first layer is formed to extend from an inner area of a periphery of the optical sheet to the external area of the same, and the second layer is discontinuously arranged on the first layer.
