An array antenna device AAD including: a plurality of element antennas EAs; a transmission/reception module TRM, which is to be connected to one of the EAs, and includes a transmission circuit TC, a reception circuit RC, and a transmission/reception switch; a transmission/reception controller controlling by controlling an amplitude and phase of a signal passing through each TC and RC, and by switching transmission/reception; a distributor distributing a signal from a signal transmitter to each TC to transmit a distributed signal from the each TC; a combiner combining a signal from the each RC; and a receiver receiving the combined signal. A detection signal, which contains a detected amplitude and phase of the signal received by the receiver, is corrected with a piece of interconnection amplitude-phase information about the EAs to obtain a calibration value in calibration of each TRM, and calibration is conducted with the calibration value.

Array antenna device and calibration method therefor

There are provided a communication excitation distribution calculating unit () that calculates an excitation distribution W() of a communication beam using an excitation phase distribution S that directs a main lobe of the communication beam in a communication direction; an interference excitation distribution calculating unit () that calculates an excitation distribution W() of an interference beam using an excitation phase distribution D that forms a null of an antenna pattern in the communication direction; and an excitation distribution combining unit () that combines the excitation distribution W() of the communication beam and the excitation distribution W() of the interference beam. An amplitude/phase controlling unit () controls amplitudes and phases of carrier signals to be provided to element antennas (-) to (-K), in accordance with the combined excitation distribution obtained by the excitation distribution combining unit ().

Antenna apparatus and antenna excitation method

Disclosed is an antenna device including element antennas for receiving signals, phase control units for controlling the phases of the signals received by the element antennas, a phase value series acquiring unit for acquiring phase value series in which phase values differing among the element antennas and changing with time are provided, a phase value setting unit for setting the phase values to the phase control units in accordance with the phase value series, a combining unit for combining the signals whose phases are controlled into a composite signal, an ADC for digitizing the composite signal, a frequency calculating unit for calculating frequency shift amounts from the phase value series, DDCs for performing frequency conversion on the digitized signal by using the frequency shift amounts, LPFs each for performing low-pass filtering on the signal on which the frequency conversion is performed, and a beam forming unit for forming one or more beam signals by using the signals on each of which the low-pass filtering is performed.
