There is provided a steam power cycle system in which steam power cycles using pure materials as a working fluid is used in a multiple stage to reduce pressure loss in the flow channels in the respective heat exchanger so that the fluid serving as heat sources has been caused to make an effective heat exchange with the working fluid. More specifically, not only that the respective flow channels for the fluid serving as heat sources in the evaporator and the condenser in the respective steam power cycle units are connected in series to each other, but the evaporator and the condenser comprise a cross-flow type heat exchanger and are arranged respectively in a flowing direction of the fluid serving as heat source. Consequently, it is possible to reduce the length of the flow channels to the minimum necessary, simplify the flow channel structure, and reduce the pressure loss.

Steam power cycle system

An outer shell structure surrounds a heat exchange unit formed of plates, which has first to third pairs of opposite planes. The structure has opposite end walls, opposite first walls and opposite second walls, and gap closure members. The end walls are placed on the pair of first opposite planes of the heat exchange unit. The first walls having openings are placed outside apart from the pair of second opposite planes of the heat exchange unit and connected water-tightly to edges of the end walls. The second walls having openings are placed outside apart from the pair of third opposite planes of the heat exchange unit and connected water-tightly to edges of the end walls. The gap closure members close a gap between the first walls and the heat exchange unit and a gap between the second walls and the heat exchange unit.

A heat exchange unit is composed of rectangular heat transfer panels with terraced flat portions, combined in parallel and integrally with each other to form first and second spaces. Outer and inner reinforcement members having respective serrations are welded to the panels so that the serrations are inserted into gaps between the heat transfer panels. The outer and inner reinforcement members are made of the same material as the heat transfer panels and have a larger thickness than the heat transfer panel, so as to bear high heat input given during the welding. The heat input caused by welding can be increased to enable portions of the heat transfer panels to be melted rapidly.

A disk-type recording medium is carried by a disk carrying section and accommodated into one of layered accommodation shelves of a disk accommodation section. A memory stores position information of the disk carrying section with respect to the accommodation shelves. A controller controls the disk carrying section in accordance with the stored position information to move to a position corresponding to each accommodation shelf. A stopping state detection section includes a light emitting element and a light receiving element provided on the disk carrying section adjacent the disk accommodation section and detects a stopping state of the disk carrying section with respect to each accommodation shelf based on a received light amount of the light receiving element depending upon a state of a light intercepting disk which is transferred between the disk carrying section and the accommodation shelf. An updating section determines an optimum stop position of the disk carrying section with respect to each accommodation shelf in response to the detected stopping state and updates the position information stored in the memory with the position information corresponding to the optimum stop position.

Three air hammers are housed and arranged in a hammer case, and have bits at their respective ends. Each of the air hammers can be activated independently. In a normal excavation, the earth is excavated by activating all the air hammers. When correcting an excavating direction, only an air hammer positioned in the correct direction is activated first so that the earth in the correct direction is excavated in a predetermined amount. Next, all the air hammers are activated to excavate the earth. Thereby, a leading hammer can direct the excavation toward the correct direction, and thus the excavating direction is corrected.

As a result of this, even if the water head pressure acts on the tip end of the drill bit, the pressure of the air for operation of the piston will not be affected by such water head pressure and thus the drilling performance of the air hammer drill will not be ill affected even under the muddy water.
