A surgical instrument has a first grasping member, a second grasping member which is provided to the first grasping member to open and close to the first grasping member, and grasps a living tissue between them, an ultrasonic coagulation-cutting unit which includes an ultrasonic vibrating portion provided in one of the first and second grasping members and connected to an ultrasonic transducer to generate ultrasonic vibration, and a pressing portion provided in the other of the first and second grasping members, and facing the ultrasonic vibrating portion, the pressing portion and the ultrasonic vibrating portion pressing the living tissue between them, and a high-frequency coagulation unit which includes a first electrode provided in the first grasping member, and a second electrode provided in the second grasping member, the first electrode and the second electrodes facing each other to coagulate the living tissue.

Surgical instrument

An ultrasonic operating apparatus of the present invention includes an apparatus main body having a vibration driving circuit for generating a driving signal to apply ultrasonic vibrations to a vibration generating portion of a hand piece and having a control portion for generating the driving signal and for systematically controlling the apparatus. An operating and display panel and a water supply pump are arranged to an outer surface of the apparatus main body, and the driving signal is supplied to the hand piece via a connector. Until a user carries out a correct processing routine, the control portion does not perform the above control operation even though the user may execute another control operation. Further, the control portion controls an operation so that an incorrect processing routine is notified to the user on the operating and display panel.

Ultrasonic operating apparatus

An ultrasonic coagulation and cutting apparatus includes: an ultrasonic transducer for a treatment using ultrasonic vibrations on body tissue; a probe for transmitting generated ultrasonic vibrations to the distal end thereof; a movable gripping member for cooperating with the outer surface of the probe in gripping therebetween body tissue; an operation unit operated to move the gripping member; an operation transmitting member for transmitting the operation of the operation unit to the gripping member; and high frequency power supply connecting portions for electrically connecting the probe and the gripping member to predetermined portions of a high frequency power supply for a treatment using high frequency current on the body tissue. At least coagulation of the body tissue using high frequency current is started in a first gripping state. Cutting of the body tissue using ultrasonic vibrations generated by the ultrasonic transducer is started in a second gripping state.

Ultrasonic coagulation and cutting apparatus

The foot switch includes a pedal, an output command signal generating section generating, when the pedal is operated, an output command signal commanding an apparatus main body having a function of producing active output to produce active output, a communication section performing communication with the apparatus main body, a transmit power adjusting section adjusting transmit power of the output command signal in the communication section, and a storage battery supplying electric power to the output command signal generating section, the communication section and the transmit power adjusting section. The transmit power adjusting section adjusts the transmit power on the basis of a signal indicative of receiving-condition of the output command signal in the apparatus main body, the signal transmitted from the apparatus main body and received by the communication section.

Foot switch and output system having foot switch

The foot switch includes a pedal, an output command signal generating section for transmitting, when the pedal is operated, an output command signal to an apparatus which has a function of producing active output, a storage battery for supplying electrical power to the output command signal generating section, a condition-detecting section for detecting a remaining capacity of the storage battery, and a notifying section for making notification of an amount corresponding to the remaining capacity detected by the condition-detecting section. The condition-detecting section can detect the remaining capacity based on the remaining voltage of the storage battery.

Endoscopes comprise image pickup elements for picking up images and transmission circuits and the like for transmitting the picked up images with radio waves of different frequencies. In addition, bar codes to code the frequencies used for transmission are provided to the respective endoscopes, the bar code provided to the endoscope used in endoscope inspection is read on a receiver side, and a reception frequency of a station selection unit is set to the read frequency, so that a signal obtained by a desired endoscope can be easily received and imaged even in case a plurality of endoscopes are used.

Endoscope apparatus

A medical treatment system has medical treatment equipment and a control device that controls the operation of this medical treatment equipment. The medical treatment equipment has an operation control section that controls operation of a therapeutic instrument connected to the medical treatment equipment with respect to a selected single function thereof. The control device is constructed including a hand switch and foot switch. This hand switch and foot switch are provided with mode input sections. Also, the foot switch has an operating switch. The control device is constituted by a selection section that recognizes and selects an operating mode of the items of the medical treatment equipment in accordance with an operating mode signal from a mode input section of the hand switch or foot switch, a switchover section that is switched over such that an on/off signal from the operating switch of the foot switch is transmitted to the items of the medical treatment equipment selected by this selection section, and a display data generating section that generates display data for displaying on a monitor, using as an input signal the on/off condition of the operating switch of the foot switch or the operating mode of the item of the medical treatment equipment selected at the selection section.
