Treatment fluids, systems, and methods including preparing a multifunctional waste additive (MWA) comprising a cellulose extract derived by contacting a plurality of cigarette filter waste with a solvent; preparing a treatment fluid comprising: a base fluid; an acid; a corrosion intensifier; and the MWA; introducing the treatment fluid into a wellbore drilled through a subterranean formation, the treatment fluid; and allowing the MWA to interact with at least a portion of a metal surface during the introducing.

Methods for hydraulic fracturing may utilize a fracturing fluid that includes a dual-polymer base fluid for all stages of a hydraulic fracturing operation. The dual-polymer base fluid includes a polysaccharide polymer and a polyacrylamide polymer. The dual-polymer base fluid and a crosslinker may be pumped into a wellbore drilled into a formation. A pump rate may be increased to induce one or more fractures in the formation. Proppant may be added to the dual-polymer base fluid while pumping. The proppant may be injected into the one or more fractures. The pump rate may then be reduced, and the dual-polymer base fluid may flow back into the wellbore.

Some examples of an emulsion system for treating deep water blockage can be prepared by emulsifying a first aqueous phase in a first organic phase to prepare a first emulsion. A second aqueous phase can be emulsified in a second organic phase to prepare a second emulsion. The first emulsion and the second emulsion can be flowed into a subterranean formation. The first aqueous phase and the second aqueous phase, when mixed, can react to release nitrogen and heat.
