Systems and methods for controlling an edge computing device. The method includes, receiving a user input requesting access to a resource of the edge computing device, determining whether the user has privileges to access the resource by: formulating a claims request which requests claims based on the determined identity of the user, sending the claims request to a local claims provider agent executed by a processor of the edge computing device, determining, based on claim request handling factors, whether the local claims provider agent can generate a token including the requested claims, and if so, generating the token with the requested claims; if not, a request may be sent to a cloud service-side claims provider to receive the token. The method includes authorizing access to the resource based on a predetermined policy that specifies the presence of a predefined resource parameter in the requested claims is sufficient.

Controlling access to resources of edge devices

Embodiments are directed towards managing data. Attributes of model fields of a plurality of model objects may be analyzed. If the analysis of the attributes discovers primary key fields in the model objects, the characteristics of the primary keys may be compared with the characteristics of other model objects. If affirmative results of the comparison indicate that one or more foreign key fields may be in the other model objects, one or more relationships that associate the primary key fields with the foreign key fields may be provided. And, a system model may be provided based on the relationships and the model objects that include the primary key fields and the model objects that include the foreign key fields.

The region may be a stand alone application or a region inside an application. The second computing device then receives a communication that represents the portable input on the portable computing device.
