A method for releasing safety gears of an elevator car or a counterweight of an elevator system, the elevator system including a stalling detector coupled to compensation roping associated with the elevator car and the counterweight and configured to detect an increased rope tension, includes preventing a stalling indication from the stalling detector during a rescue operation; and moving the elevator car in order to release the safety gears.

An elevator car () defining an interior space () for accommodating passengers. The elevator car () comprises an openable roof (), horizontal roof guide rails () arranged on a top side of the elevator car (), a support structure () pivotably mounted to the guide rails () by a first joint (), and a working platform () pivotably and movably mounted to the support structure () by a second joint () arranged at a distance from the first joint (). The working platform () is pivotable between a retracted position, in which said working platform is oriented close to the guide rails () in the top side of the elevator car, and a deployed position, in which the working platform () is in the interior space (), at a distance from the guide rails (). The method includes loading and/or unloading the car, determining whether the car doors are fully closed or not fully open, measuring a total actual axial mass F&#x3a3;act hanging from the traction sheave, determining a stalling limit total minimum axial mass F&#x3a3;min, checking reopening of the car doors, whereby if the car doors are reopened, then return to beginning, else, continue, permitting starting of elevator, comparing the total actual axial mass with the stalling limit total minimum axial mass, whereby if the total actual axial mass is equal to or greater than the stalling limit total minimum axial mass, then permit normal run of the elevator car to the next landing, else, stop the elevator.

Method for controlling an elevator

An element includes a vibration isolation pad with two opposite substantially planar surfaces, an elastic material layer being permanently attached to a first of the two substantially planar surfaces of the vibration isolation pad, a load sensor arrangement integrated into the combined elevator vibration isolation and load measurement element. A load acting on the combined elevator vibration isolation and load measurement element can be measured with the load sensor arrangement as a function of the compression of the elastic material layer.

A roller guide assembly for an elevator device, the roller guide assembly comprising a base member having a mounting means for mounting to the elevator device, the base member comprising a shaft support member; a roller wheel for engaging a guide rail to be rolled on the guide rail; a shaft on which the roller wheel is bearing-mounted, the shaft being straight and non-rotatably supported by the shaft support member, and a vibration dampening element, the vibration dampening element comprising an elastomer body arranged between the shaft and the shaft support member for dampening vibration of the roller wheel and for isolating the vibration from the base member. The shaft is attached to the shaft support member by the vibration dampening element forming a single attachment point for the shaft. The elastomer body is configured to form an elastically spring-loaded universal joint for the attachment of the shaft to provide a universal degree of freedom of an angular movement of the shaft and the roller wheel in relation to the base member.

A ladder support bracket has a support shoulder for creating a support contact with a complementary backup. The bracket includes at least one jaw for joining the bracket to an upstanding rail of a ladder, the jaw having also a retainer mechanism by means of which the bracket&#x2014;when being attached to a rail of a ladder&#x2014;can be brought into a clamping position attaching the bracket unmovably to the rail and a release position holding the bracket in a swivel connection relative to the rail and/or movably along at least a section of such rail.
