Existing multistatic configurations of Radar systems requires a direct LoS signal and/or time synchronization among the Radar transmitter and the multistatic distributed Radar receivers. The present disclosure provides a phaseless frequency-modulated continuous-wave multistatic Radar (PFMR) imaging that relaxes requirement of the direct LoS signal and only requires a plurality of parameters of a FMCW signal comprising a chirp signal rate, a carrier frequency and, a period of chirp to be known. Further, it also removes condition of the time synchronization among a plurality of FMCW multistatic distributed Radar receivers. However, because of absence of the time synchronization among a plurality of FMCW multistatic distributed Radar receivers, an unknown random phase offset appears after deramping. The present disclosure eliminates the unknown random phase offset, by performing autocorrelation function on a mixed signal, resulting in a phaseless measurement data corresponding to a plurality of FMCW Radar imaging signals.

Method and systems for phaseless frequency-modulated continuous-wave multistatic radar imaging

Use of Swept Frequency Acoustic Interferometry (SFAI) is becoming ubiquitous in taking non-invasive measurements of fluid parameters like sound speed, sound attenuation and density of fluid. But measurement using SFAI is relatively slow as one needs to sweep a wide range of frequencies and for each probing frequency one needs to wait for settling time. Further, SFAI works well only on steady flow as sudden change in fluid flow destroys resonance condition, thereby making it unsuitable for flowing fluid. Present application provides method and system for faster assessment of sound speed in fluids using compressive sensing technique. The system first uses random samples in defined frequency scanning range of frequency sweep signal for generating pseudo analytic signal vector. The system then estimates pulse-echo view by applying compressive sensing technique over pseudo analytic signal vector. Thereafter, system calculates sound speed in fluid using pulse-echo view and pre-defined sound speed calculation formula.

Method and system for faster assessment of sound speed in fluids using compressive sensing technique

The present disclosure provides a method for surface wear inspection using millimeter wave radar. The system initially receives a plurality of uncompressed raw Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images. Further, a plurality of reconstructed SAR images are generated based on the plurality of uncompressed raw SAR images using a variable focusing based Range Doppler Algorithm (RDA). Further, a master image and a slave image are selected from the reconstructed SAR images and corresponding anchor points are assigned. Further a plurality of fine level and coarse level shift coordinates are computed based on the corresponding anchor points. Further, a net shift value is computed based on the plurality of fine level and coarse level shift coordinates. The master and the slave images are aligned based on the net shift value and the interferogram is generated. The interferogram is further analyzed to profile the corresponding deformation pertaining to the surface under test.

Method and system for surface wear inspection using millimeter wave radar

Existing Mueller Matrix polarization techniques that rely only on polarization properties are insufficient for accurate characterization of transparent objects. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method and system for Mueller Matrix polarimetric characterization of transparent object using optical properties along with the polarization properties to accurately characterize the transparent object. The polarization properties of are derived from a decomposed Mueller matrix element. Additionally, the method derives the optical properties by further subjecting the decomposed Mueller matrix element to Fresnel's law-based analysis and a reverse Monte Carlo analysis to extract optical properties such as a material refractive index and a material attenuation index. Optical properties vary with changes in the material property caused due to several factors such as manufacturing defect, aberration, inclusion of an impurity such as bubble or dust etc. Thus, considering the optical properties along with the polarization properties enables enhanced, accurate characterization of the transparent object.

Polarimetric characterization of transparent objects

Beamforming is a vital component in space division multiple access (SDMA) and currently employed sectorial beamforming that radiates throughout sector(s) is not sufficient for next generation communication systems. Hence, massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) having large number of antenna elements is employed in 5G and beyond communication systems that has capability to provide practically realizable SDMA. However, such setups are not economical as large number of antenna elements are employed. Present disclosure provides systems and methods that implement electro-mechanical beam tilting based approach, that uses a single antenna element coupled with a meta-surface mounted on top which provides a directional beam leading to an improvement in signal to noise ratio (SNR). The meta-surface-based beamforming architecture of the system provides an improved bit error rate (BER) and spectral efficiency (SE) with huge reduction in number of antenna elements without using phase-shifter.

Systems and methods for meta-surface-based beamforming

Lighting conditions affect quality of images being captured. In traditional systems, illuminators (light sources) are used to illuminate the objects without considering illumination levels at different zones/sides of an object being photographed. As a result, all illuminators may run at maximum capacity, resulting in wastage of power and compromising efficiency of the system. The disclosure herein generally relates to illumination of objects, and, more particularly, to a method and system for adaptive illumination of objects. The system determines illumination at different zones of the object, and further identifies zones that are not illuminated properly in comparison with a threshold of illumination. Further the system controls intensity of only the illuminators which are responsible for illumination of the zones in which measured illumination is below a threshold of illumination, and increases the intensity by a value determined based on difference between measured illumination and the threshold of illumination, for each zone.

Method and system for zone-wise adaptive illumination of objects

This disclosure relates generally to action recognition and more particularly to system and method for real-time radar-based action recognition. The classical machine learning techniques used for learning and inferring human actions from radar images are compute intensive, and require volumes of training data, making them unsuitable for deployment on network edge. The disclosed system utilizes neuromorphic computing and Spiking Neural Networks (SNN) to learn human actions from radar data captured by radar sensor(s). In an embodiment, the disclosed system includes a SNN model having a data pre-processing layer, Convolutional SNN layers and a Classifier layer. The preprocessing layer receives radar data including doppler frequencies reflected from the target and determines a binarized matrix. The CSNN layers extracts features (spatial and temporal) associated with the target's actions based on the binarized matrix. The classifier layer identifies a type of the action performed by the target based on the features.

System and method for real-time radar-based action recognition using spiking neural network(SNN)

This disclosure relates generally to multi-port multi-functional meta-surface coplanar antenna system. Conventional electronic or mechanical solutions for beam steering incur high installation costs with less performance speed and bulk structures. The present disclosure provides multi-port multi-functional meta-surface coplanar antenna system for beam steering control. The disclosed antenna system enables radiator to have a performance diversity application through beam steering functionalities. The disclosed antenna system provides a minimal design complexity and minimal usage of active or passive lumped components. The disclosed system comprises Gradient Refractive Index Meta-surface (GRIM) and the antenna disposed on the same side of a substrate. Beam steering control is performed using port excitations and controlling the phase between the concerned ports externally.

Multi-port multi-functional meta-surface coplanar antenna system for beam steering control

Ultra Wide Band (UWB) based Real Time Location Systems (RTLS) that are being used for location tracking suffer from environment specific errors that are introduced due to factors such as difference in reflection and propagation. In order to address this challenge, present invention discloses performing error modelling for object localization using Ultra Wide Band (UWB) sensors. The error modelling allows to correct a determined location of an object being tracked, to determine a corrected location. Based on an obtained distance value of a tag node with reference to position of a plurality of anchor nodes, location of an object in a 2-Dimensional space is determined. The determined location is corrected to obtain the corrected location, and in this process the error modelling and related error correction is done.

Method and system of error modelling for object localization using ultra wide band (UWB) sensors

Embodiments herein provide a system and method for screening and monitoring of cardiac diseases by analyzing acquired physiological signals. Unlike state of art approaches that consider only synchronized ECG and PPG signals for cardiac health analysis and do not consider PCG which is a critical signal for CAD analysis, the system synchronously captures physiological signals such as photo plethysmograph (PPG), phonocardiogram (PCG) and electrocardiogram (ECG) from subject(s) and builds an analytical model in the cloud for analyzing heart conditions from the captured physiological signals. The system and method provides a fusion based approach of combining the captured physiological signals such as PPG, PCG and ECG along with other details such as subject clinical information, demography information and so on. The analytical model is pretrained using ECG. PPG and PCG along with metadata associated with the subject such as demography and clinical information.

Method and system for screening and monitoring of cardiac diseases

The disclosure generally relates to determining a breathing rate and a heart rate from cardiopulmonary signal. Conventional systems use additional hardware to improve signal quality or different signal processing techniques to calculate the heart rate from the cardiopulmonary signal. However accurately determining the heart rate is always a continuous area of an improvement. The present methods and systems solve the problem of determining the heart rate accurately, from the cardiopulmonary signals, by determining the signal quality of the cardiopulmonary signal and the signal associated with the heart rate, comprised in the cardiopulmonary signal. A signal processing technique that best performs, out of a set of signal processing techniques is identified based on the signal quality to determine the heart rate. A long-term and an effective health monitoring of healthy as well as patient and infant subjects is achieved by the present disclosure.

Methods and systems for determining breathing rate and heart rate from cardiopulmonary signals

This disclosure relates generally to material quality inspection. Conventional approaches available for material quality inspection are unable to address concerns of complexity and cost involved. The technical problem of occluded object detection and material quality inspection for intrinsic defects identification is addressed in the present disclosure. The present disclosure provides a system and method for non-intrusive material quality inspection using three-dimensional monostatic radar based imaging, where the object under inspection undergoes a circular translation motion on a rotating platform. A modified delay-and-sum (m-DAS) algorithm is built by incorporating virtual antenna array to obtain a 3D image reconstruction of the object. From 3D reconstructed images, radial displacement as well as the angular locations of the object is identified which are further used for quality inspection of the material comprised in the object.

Systems and methods for non-intrusive material quality inspection using three- dimensional monostatic radar based imaging

This disclosure relates generally to method and system to track and monitor human using an array of radars. Human tracking is necessarily important in security, especially with the growth of threats and incidents. Conventional systems and method lack in tracking target subject being authenticated to move around the monitoring environment. The present invention provides a method of detect human continually based on radar signals from an array of radars to track the presence of one or more target subjects associated within the monitoring environment. Further, a height surface plot of each target subject present in a radar range is constructed for identification. Then, each target subject present in the radar range of the monitoring environment based on mapping the height surface plot with a predefined height map. The characteristics of each target subject helps in detecting the target subject accurately.

Method and system to track and monitor human using an array of radars

An e-commerce business model has witnessed several cases where packages with faulty goods, returned by buyers, without procured object, rather replaced by different device. This disclosure relates a method to detect whether object under test a desired object. A plurality of back-scattered signals is received from the object under test occluded by packaging with continuous motion on conveyer based on first antenna-radar combination. The plurality of back-scattered signals is processed by applying four-tap difference filter to obtain motion-filtered data matrix. A low pass filter is applied on the motion-filtered data matrix to obtain enveloped motion-filtered data matrix. A sliding constant false alarm rate is applied on the enveloped motion-filtered data matrix to determine detection threshold value. A check is performed to detect whether the object under test is the desired object based on whether intensity of the plurality back-scattered signals exceeds the detection threshold value.

Method and system for detection of a desired object occluded by packaging

Temperature measurement is an important part of many potential applications in the fields of metallurgy. Conventional temperature measurement methods do not provide accurate and precise average temperature of fluid inside an enclosed chamber. The present disclosure provides multi-sensory techniques for measuring average temperature of mixed fluid inside a chamber. The average temperature is measured based on acoustic interferometry technique on standing wave and inputs received from one or more sensors and radar. The present disclosure utilizes radar to compensate the effect of fumes, noise based on Doppler effect. Further, the inputs received from the one or more sensors are used to determine the concentration of one or more fluids present in the chamber. The method of proposed disclosure depends on the principle of dependence of temperature on sound speed in fluid. So, measurement of sound speed can be mapped to report average temperature of mixed fluid inside the chamber.
