An apron device, an elevator car and method of protecting falling into an elevator shaft. The apron device comprises a first protective element and a second protective element which are both located under a door sill of an elevator car. The elements form together a bending stiff sleeve structure which can move in relation to the elevator car. The first protective element can lift the second protective element being closer to the elevator car. When the second protective element is lifted, its upper part moves in transversal direction towards a space below a bottom of the elevator car. The first protective element is moved only in vertical direction.

A method for releasing safety gears of an elevator car or a counterweight of an elevator system, the elevator system including a stalling detector coupled to compensation roping associated with the elevator car and the counterweight and configured to detect an increased rope tension, includes preventing a stalling indication from the stalling detector during a rescue operation; and moving the elevator car in order to release the safety gears.

An elevator shaft element, an elevator arrangement and a method. The elevator shaft element comprises a frame module arranged for receiving an elevator car therein. The frame module is constructed from a transport and/or storage unit, comprising side walls, a bottom wall and a roof wall. The unit is arranged to be positioned vertically such that said side walls, bottom wall and upper wall of the unit define an inner space of the elevator shaft. Elevator car guides for guiding movement of the elevator car in the elevator shaft element are attached to said bottom wall and/or roof wall.

The invention relates to a method for resetting a shaft access monitoring system of an elevator system. The method comprises: receiving an input from a user interface arranged in the elevator system, the input is provided with at least one input device of the user interface arranged to control an operation of the elevator system; comparing the received input to a reference value; and setting, in accordance with a comparison between the received input and the reference value, a detection result to express one of the following: (i) the shaft access monitoring system shall be reset, (ii) the shaft access monitoring system shall not be reset. The invention also relates to a control unit, to an elevator system and a computer program product.

The method includes loading and/or unloading the car, determining whether the car doors are fully closed or not fully open, measuring a total actual axial mass F&#x3a3;act hanging from the traction sheave, determining a stalling limit total minimum axial mass F&#x3a3;min, checking reopening of the car doors, whereby if the car doors are reopened, then return to beginning, else, continue, permitting starting of elevator, comparing the total actual axial mass with the stalling limit total minimum axial mass, whereby if the total actual axial mass is equal to or greater than the stalling limit total minimum axial mass, then permit normal run of the elevator car to the next landing, else, stop the elevator.

An element includes a vibration isolation pad with two opposite substantially planar surfaces, an elastic material layer being permanently attached to a first of the two substantially planar surfaces of the vibration isolation pad, a load sensor arrangement integrated into the combined elevator vibration isolation and load measurement element. A load acting on the combined elevator vibration isolation and load measurement element can be measured with the load sensor arrangement as a function of the compression of the elastic material layer.

An elevator system comprising a shaft having a pit, a car guided by a pair of first guide rails to be vertically movable in the shaft, a counterweight connected to the car by a suspension rope, the counterweight being guided by a pair of second guide rails to be vertically movable in the shaft, and a counterweight screen in a space between the counterweight and the car, the counterweight screen being attached to the second guide rails at the pit. The invention concerns a safety arrangement of an elevator facility for safeguarding a work environment in an elevator shaft by actuating an actuator ensuring that an elevator car is not moving unintentionally during a safety situation, the elevator facility having a control system to which the safety arrangement is connected. According to the invention the safety arrangement comprises hydraulic activation means including a suspended floating platform being vertically movable, under which platform a sensing hydraulic cylinder is installed for activating the actuator upon loading of the platform.

Safety system for a service space within an elevator shaft

A diverting pulley adapter is provided for converting an existing pulley, the adapter enabling a maintenance of an existing running path for diverting a suspension, like an elevator-rope or an elevator-belt, the adapter having a base with at least one fixing component for anchoring the adapter, at which base a set of pulleys is provided. The adapter includes a first deflection pulley being mounted rotatable on its rotation axis, and at least a further second deflection pulley being mounted rotatable on its rotation axis, wherein the rotation axes of the pulleys are interspaced, respectively. The present invention discloses a solution for maintaining passenger-specific favorite floor lists in an elevator system, which comprises at least one elevator, call-giving devices for registering calls given by the passengers, a control system that is responsive to the aforementioned calls and memory means, in which is recorded at least one passenger-specific favorite floor list. A passenger is identified in connection with giving a call on the basis of the ID number of an identifier. The favorite floor list is updated on the basis of calls given by the passenger and/or a given updating criterion.

A method for modernizing a hydraulic elevator including an elevator car guided by car guide rails for moving in an essentially vertical direction in the elevator hoistway, a hydraulic system including a lifting cylinder having a cylinder part essentially vertically supported on the base of the elevator hoistway and a piston rod moving in relation to the cylinder part and a hydraulic powerpack and a control center. The hydraulic system of the hydraulic elevator is modernized to include a function for preventing unintended starting at a floor, in such a way that the hydraulic powerpack is retained and an electrically-operating valve that is monitored with a control and that acts on the flow of hydraulic fluid of the lifting cylinder is added to the hydraulic system. The control controls a valve to prevent movement of the piston rod of the lifting cylinder downwards and/or upwards, if predetermined criteria are fulfilled.
