A short protecting circuit for a LED (Light-emitting Diode) driver for powering a plurality of LED strings, having: a short comparing circuit, configured to provide a plurality of short fault indicating signals; a first logic circuit, configured to provide a short fault signal based on the plurality of short fault indicating signals to indicate a short fault condition; a timing circuit, configured to provide a short protecting enable signal; and a second logic circuit, configured to provide a plurality of short isolating signals; wherein the short isolating signals are blocked when an open fault signal is valid.

Short/open protecting circuit and a method thereof

The embodiments of the present invention disclose a charge-pump voltage divider and associated start-up method. The charge-pump voltage divider comprises a start-up circuit that can regulate an inrush current during start up. The start-up circuit comprises a switch, which operates in linear region state during start-up, and operates in switching state after the start-up completes. The charge-pump voltage divider may further comprise a load control switch configured to ensure the start-up is independent of a load current.

Charge-pump voltage divider and associated control method

A current control circuit and associated method are disclosed hereby. The current control circuit has a fly-wheel circuit, comprising an inductor, a rectifier and a load; a current sense circuit, detecting a load current, configured to generate a first current signal; a compensating circuit, generating a compensating signal; a control circuit, generating a control signal according to the first current signal and the compensating signal; a first switch, coupled to the fly-wheel circuit, turned ON and OFF according to the control signal. By the effect of the compensating signal, the drift error of the average load current is prohibited.
