A method for providing magnetic resonance imaging with dynamic contrast and 4D flow of a volume of an object in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system is provided. Contrast agent is provided to the volume of the object. Magnetic resonance excitation from the MRI system is applied to the volume of the object. The MRI system reads out a subsample of less than 10% of spatially resolved data and velocity encoded data with respect to time. The readout subsample is used to determine both dynamic contrast and 4D flow.

Dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging with flow encoding

A method for performing wave-encoded magnetic resonance imaging of an object is provided. The method includes applying one or more wave-encoded magnetic gradients to the object, and acquiring MR signals from the object. The method further includes calibrating a wave point-spread function, and reconstructing an image from the MR signals based at least in part on the calibrated wave point-spread function. Calibration of the wave point-spread function is based at least in part on one or more intermediate images generated from the MR signals.

System and method for performing wave-encoded magnetic resonance imaging of an object

A method for creating a first MRI image and a second MRI image is provided. A first echo is read out. A second echo is read out. The first echo readout is used to generate a first image set, with each image pixel being a first linear combination of the first species and the second species. The second echo readout is used to generate a second image set, with each image pixel being a second linear combination of the first species and the second species. The first image set and second image set are combined to obtain a first combined image containing only the first species and a second combined image containing only the second species, comprising combining the first image set and the second image set to generate two pairs of solutions and using a mathematical optimization to choose a correct pair of solutions.

Robust dual echo Dixon imaging with flexible echo times

The present invention provides for an isolated or recombinant polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence having at least 70% identity with the amino acid sequence of acellulase, such as Hu-CBH1, wherein said amino acid sequence has a halophilic thermostable and/or thermophilic cellobiohydrolase (CBH) activity. In some embodiments, the polypeptide has a CBH activity that is resistant to up to about 20% of ionic liquids. The present invention also provides for compositions comprising and methods using the isolated or recombinant polypeptide.

Methods of hydrolyzing a cellulose using halophilic, thermostable and ionic liquids tolerant cellulases

A method for providing at least one motion corrected magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) image of an object in an MRI system with an array of a plurality of receiving coils is provided. At least one motion navigator signal of the object is provided. Individual navigator data are collected from each of the plurality of receiving coils. Motion estimates are generated for each of the plurality of receiving coils from the collected individual navigator data. A subset of the plurality of coils is found that detects a dominant motion by clustering the generated motion estimates. Only motion estimates from coils in the found subset are used to create a determined motion estimate. At least one MRI image is reconstructed using the determined motion estimate.

Robust self-navigating MRI using large coil arrays

A high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnet coil disposed within a cryostat is configured with a thermo-siphon cooling system containing a liquid cryogen. The cooling system is configured to indirectly conduction cool the HTS magnet coil by nucleate boiling of the liquid cryogen that is circulated by the thermo-siphon in a cooling tube attached to a heat exchanger bonded to the outside surface of the HTS magnet coil. A supply dewar is configured with a re-condenser cryocooler coldhead to recondense boiloff vapors generated during the nucleate boiling process.

High temperature superconducting magnet

A method of providing dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of an object in an MRI system is provided. A magnetic resonance excitation from the MRI system is applied to the object. A magnetic resonance signal is read out through k-space for a plurality of regions with two or three spatial dimensions and a temporal dimension, wherein the read out is pseudo-randomly undersampled in the spatial frequency dimensions and the temporal dimension providing k-space data that is pseudo-randomly undersampled in the spatial frequency dimensions and the temporal dimension. The readout data is used to create a sequential series of spatial frequency data sets by generating interpolated data in the spatial frequency dimensions and the temporal dimension. The sequential series of spatial frequency data sets is used to create temporally resolved spatial images.

Also provided is a magnetic resonance imaging system including the cryogenic cooling system.

Cryogenic system and method for superconducting magnets and MRI with a fully closed-loop cooling path

A computer implemented method for magnetic resonance imaging is provided. A 3D Fourier Transform acquisition is performed with two phase encode directions, wherein phase code locations are chosen so that a total number of phase encodes is less than a Nyquist rate, and closest distances between phase encode locations takes on a multiplicity of values. Readout signals are received through a multi-channel array of a plurality of receivers. An autocalibrating parallel imaging interpolation is performed and a noise correlation is generated. The noise correlation is used to weight a data consistency term of a compressed sensing iterative reconstruction. An image is created from the autocalibration parallel imaging using the weighted data consistency term. The image is displayed.

A method for cooling a superconducting magnet enclosed in a cryostat includes introducing a gas into a cooling path in the cryostat from an input portion into a cooling path cooled by a refrigerator outside the cryostat. A heat exchanger inside the cryostat above the magnet cools the gas. The cooled gas flows through a magnet cooling tube contacting the magnet. The cooled gas removes heat from the magnet, and to the heat exchanger to re-cool and return to the superconducting magnet, thereby cooling and/or maintaining the magnet at a superconducting temperature.

A three dimensional image, in a phased array magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system is provided. Three dimensional k-space data within an auto calibration signal (ACS) region and outside the ACS region are acquired. The k-space data within the ACS region are converted into hybrid space ACS data. Compression matrices and alignment matrices of the compression matrices for the hybrid space ACS data are found along a readout direction. Alignment matrices are multiplied to the compression matrices to achieve the properly-aligned compression matrices along the readout direction. All k-space data are converted into hybrid space. The properly-aligned compression matrices are applied to the hybrid space data to provide compressed data with fewer channels. The compressed data are used to form a three dimensional image.
