In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, at the mobile client system, a text string inputted into a query field by a first user, accessing, from a local data store, a set of grammar templates, each grammar template comprising query tokens referencing an object stored in the local data store, generating one or more natural-language suggested queries by matching portions of the text string to query tokens of the grammar templates, each suggested query comprising references to one or more of the objects stored in the local data store and the natural-language string of the matching grammar template, calculating a cost for each grammar template based at least in part on one or more portions of text string not corresponding to one of the query tokens, and displaying one or more suggested queries to the first user, each having a calculated cost below a threshold cost value.

Client-side search templates for online social networks

In one embodiment, a first computing server receives a message from a client computing device. The message identifies an image to be displayed on the client computing device. The message is generated by a second computing server and received by the client computing device in response to a request sent by the client computing device to the second computing server for the identified image. The first computing server determines one or more adjustment parameters based on the display capabilities of the client computing device. The first computing server creates an adjusted version of the identified image based on the adjustment parameters, and sends the adjusted version of the identified image to the client computing device for display.

In one embodiment, a method includes presenting, by a client system, grammar tokens, each grammar token being based on a natural-language string and comprising references to objects associated with an online social network, receiving, at the client system, a selection of one of the presented grammar tokens, the selected grammar token being based on a first natural-language string, presenting, by the client system, completion tokens, wherein each completion token is based on a natural-language string corresponding to the first natural-language string and comprises references to objects associated with the online social network, receiving, at the client system, a selection of one of the completion tokens, the selected completion token being based on a second natural-language string, and generating, by the client system, a structured query corresponding to the selected grammar and completion tokens, the structured query comprising references to the objects referenced in the selected grammar and completion tokens.

Query construction on online social networks

In one embodiment, a computing device receives a request from a mobile device of a user for an image. The computing device determines whether the user is associated with a preferred orientation for viewing an image. The preferred orientation is determined based on the user's usage patterns with respect to a particular application of the mobile device, or to the user's interactions with a social-networking system. If the user is associated with a preferred orientation, the image is adjusted to have the preferred orientation and to match display capabilities of the mobile device sending the request. The adjusted image is sent to the mobile device for display.

In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an unstructured text query from a first user of an online social network; and accessing, from a data store of the mobile client system, a set of nodes of a social graph of the online social network. The social graph includes a number of nodes and edges connecting the nodes. The nodes include a first node corresponding to the first user and a number of second nodes that each correspond to a concept or a second user associated with the online social network. The method also includes accessing, from the data store of the mobile client system, a set of grammar templates. Each grammar template includes one or more non-terminal tokens and one or more query tokens. The query tokens include references to zero or more second nodes and one or more edges and each grammar template is based on a natural-language string.

In one embodiment, a method includes accessing a set of nodes of a social graph of an online social network. The social graph includes a number of nodes and a number of edges connecting the nodes. Each of the edges between two of the nodes representing a single degree of separation between them. The nodes include a first node that corresponds to the first user and a number of nodes that each correspond to a concept or a second user associated with the online social network. The method also includes accessing one or more grammar tokens. Each grammar token includes references to zero or more nodes and one or more edges. Each grammar token corresponds to a particular type of completion token. Each grammar token may be based on a natural-language string. The method also includes receiving from the first user a selection of one or more of the grammar tokens and one or more of the completion tokens.

Aspects of the disclosure generally provide a heat engine system and a method for regulating a pressure and an amount of a working fluid in a working fluid circuit during a thermodynamic cycle. A mass management system may be employed to regulate the working fluid circulating throughout the working fluid circuit. The mass management systems may have a mass control tank fluidly coupled to the working fluid circuit at one or more strategically-located tie-in points. A heat exchanger coil may be used in conjunction with the mass control tank to regulate the temperature of the fluid within the mass control tank, and thereby determine whether working fluid is either extracted from or injected into the working fluid circuit. Regulating the pressure and amount of working fluid in the working fluid circuit selectively increases or decreases the suction pressure of the pump to increase system efficiency.

Heat engine and heat to electricity systems and methods with working fluid mass management control

Aspects of the disclosure generally provide a heat engine system with a working fluid circuit and a method for starting a turbopump disposed in the working fluid circuit. The turbopump has a main pump and may be started and ramped-up using a starter pump arranged in parallel with the main pump of the turbopump. Once the turbopump reaches a self-sustaining speed of operation, a series of valves may be manipulated to deactivate the starter pump and direct additional working fluid to a power turbine for generating electrical power.

In one embodiment, a computing device receives from a mobile device a request for one or more images. The computing device adjusts one or more of the images based at least in part on one or more display capabilities of the mobile device, and one or more tagged regions within one or more of the images. Aspects of the invention disclosed herein generally provide heat engine systems and methods for recovering energy, such as by generating electricity from thermal energy. In one configuration, a heat engine system contains a working fluid (e.g., sc-CO) within a working fluid circuit, two heat exchangers configured to be thermally coupled to a heat source (e.g., waste heat), two expanders, two recuperators, two pumps, a condenser, and a plurality of valves configured to switch the system between single/dual-cycle modes. In another aspect, a method for recovering energy may include monitoring a temperature of the heat source, operating the heat engine system in the dual-cycle mode when the temperature is equal to or greater than a threshold value, and subsequently, operating the heat engine system in the single-cycle mode when the temperature is less than the threshold value.

Supercritical carbon dioxide power cycle for waste heat recovery

Waste heat energy conversion cycles, systems and devices use multiple waste heat exchangers arranged in series in a waste heat stream, and multiple thermodynamic cycles run in parallel with the waste heat exchangers in order to maximize thermal energy extraction from the waste heat stream by a working fluid. The parallel cycles operate in different temperature ranges with a lower temperature work output used to drive a working fluid pump. A working fluid mass management system is integrated into or connected to the cycles.

Techniques for mining API method usage patterns from source code are described. These techniques include parsing the source code to generate API method call sequences that include an API method. These call sequences are clustered to obtain clusters. Based on the clusters, frequent closed sequences are determined and then clustered to obtain an API usage pattern. In addition, optimal clustering parameters may also be determined. In some instances, a graphical representation is generated based on the API usage pattern in response to a query associated with the API method.

A refrigeration cycle is operated in conjunction with various thermodynamic cycle working fluid circuits to cool a target fluid that may be used in a separate system or duty. In one embodiment, the refrigeration cycle includes an ejector that extracts a motive fluid from the working fluid cycles in order to entrain a suction fluid that is also extracted from the working fluid circuits. Expanding the suction fluid reduces the pressure and temperature of the suction fluid for cooling the target fluid in an evaporator, which evaporates the suction fluid before being entrained into the ejector by the motive fluid. A mixed fluid is discharged from the ejector and injected into the working fluid circuits upstream from a condenser that cools the mixed fluid and the working fluid circulating throughout the working fluid circuits.
