A computer system includes a bus interface having error correction capability. The bus interface includes an error register that is configured to provide error information related to correctable errors. System software within the computer system is configured to obtain the error information from the error register and calculate a bit error metric based on the error information. A baseboard management controller within the computer system is configured to take an action in response to obtaining the bit error metric from the system software and determining that a condition related to the bit error metric has been satisfied.

Systems and methods for monitoring and responding to bus bit error ratio events

A backlit device includes an outer layer, an adhesive layer, and a light guide configured to transmit light from a light source. The adhesive layer is positioned between the outer layer and the light guide. The outer layer includes a plurality of outer layer segments and at least one opening positioned between the outer layer segments where light from the light guide can pass through and provide backlighting. The adhesive layer includes a plurality of adhesive material segments. Each adhesive material segment is individually positioned between an outer layer segment and the light guide such that the perimeter of an outer layer segment surrounds the perimeter of the respective adhesive material segment. Through this arrangement, the adhesive material segments do not divert or block light passing through the opening in the outer layer.

Backlit illumination of electronics

The present disclosure provides a display module having a removably fixed retention member that allows disassembly of a computer device, for example, to improve the ease of field repair. The computer device includes a chassis frame forming an outer edge of the device. The chassis frame including a first slot defining a first portion of a keyway, and the display module having a retention member including a second slot forming a second portion of the keyway between the chassis frame and the retention member. The retention element is moveable within the keyway to contact both the retention member and the chassis frame. The computer device may include a compression gasket located between the chassis frame and the retention member. When the compression gasket is held in a compressed state, the first portion and the second portion of the keyway are aligned to allow movement of the retention element.
