Described herein are compositions and methods for the conversion of chlorophyll-derived phytol into useful and economically viable surfactants. The provided compositions utilize the hydrophobic phytol structure and added functional groups to increase hydrophilicity at one end of the molecule.

Phytol-based surfactants and methods therefor

The present disclosure relates to a method for making a non-isocyanate polyurethane (NIPU) foam, where the method includes decomposing a blowing agent having at least one of an amine carbamate salt and/or an amine bicarbonate salt to form a diamine and COin the presence of a molecule comprising a plurality of cyclic carbonate functional groups and reacting the diamine with at least a portion of the cyclic carbonate functional groups to form the NIPU foam. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the reacting and the decomposing may occur at substantially the same rate.

Non-isocyanate polyurethane products and methods of making the same

The present disclosure relates to methods for producing polymers and resins, the method including a first reacting of at least a first diamine with a first carbonate-containing compound and a second carbonate-containing compound to produce at least one of the polymer or the resin, where the first reacting is according to each of R, R, R, and Rinclude at least one of a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a saturated hydrocarbon chain, and/or an unsaturated hydrocarbon chain, and R comprises at least one of a carbon atom, a saturated hydrocarbon chain, and/or an unsaturated hydrocarbon chain.
