A user equipment (UE), which is operable in EUTRA networks and in NR networks, can perform a capability transfer procedure. The UE can compile EUTRA capabilities of the UE. The UE can further compile NR capabilities of the UE. The UE can transmit one or more UE capability information messages with the compiled EUTRA capabilities and NR capabilities to a base station in an EUTRA network, characterized in that the NR capabilities are compiled subject to a capability size limit, which corresponds to a supported size of a container in a handover message sent on an inter-RAT interface between Evolved Packet Core and 5G Core.

Methods and devices for facilitating an inter-RAT handover

A target cell for handover of a wireless device from a source cell to the target cell is provided. The target cell includes processing circuitry configured to: determine to configure the source cell as a downlink carrier aggregation secondary cell, DL CA SCell, for the wireless device, and cause transmission of an indication to the source cell to at least one of: temporarily retain, after the handover, at least a portion of information specific to the wireless device; and transmit the at least the portion of information specific to the wireless device to the target cell. The indication is based at least in part on the determination.

Simultaneous handover and carrier aggregation configuration

The user equipment performs a method for measuring a measurement quantity of a secondary cell on a second carrier operated by a second radio network node. The present invention provides a muting configuration for reference signal (RS) transmission as a pattern defined by at least the combination of a muting sequence and a reference point. Muting occasions for a given wireless communication network cell () thus are differentiated from another cell by use of a different muting sequence, a different reference point, or both. Moreover, in one or more embodiments, the present invention provides for the use of a common muting sequence or reference point across cells (), with muting occasions being differentiated between cells () through use of different reference points (in the case of a common muting sequence), or through use of different muting sequences (in the case of a common reference point), or different sequences and different reference points. Such arrangements simplify the signaling needed to control or indicate the muting configuration in use in the cells of interest, provide an advantageous basis for propagating muting configurations among cells (), eliminate the need for predefined muting configurations, and the need for blind detection of muting by wireless communication apparatuses (), such as UEs.

A wireless device and a method therein for receiving positioning system information from a radio network node. The wireless device and the radio network node operate in a wireless communications network. The wireless device receives positioning system information broadcast scheduling information comprising information about positioning System Information Blocks that are comprised in a System Information message. Further, the wireless device receives an indication that a pSIB is segmented into pSIB segments. Based on the indication and on the pSI the wireless device determines whether or not the pSIB segments are scheduled via contiguous scheduling. When the pSIB segments are determined to be scheduled via contiguous scheduling, the wireless device monitors scheduled resources, retrieves the contiguously scheduled pSIB segments and decodes position system information of the retrieved pSIB segments.

According to some embodiments, a method of signaling device capabilities for use in a wireless device comprises compiling frequency band combinations supported by the wireless device. The method further comprises compiling a set of device capabilities supported by the wireless device and assembling a capability message. The capability message includes: the frequency band combinations; combinations of the device capabilities supported by the wireless device; and for each of the one or more frequency band combinations, the capability message includes a first indication of one or more device capabilities supported by the frequency band combination. The first indication of the device capabilities supported by the frequency band combination comprises, for each band of the plurality of frequency bands, an indication of one of the one or more combinations of the device capabilities supported by the band when used in combination with the other bands in the frequency band combination.
