A flexible workspace system with real-time sensor feedback comprises workstations, presence sensors, workstation transmitters, a mobile device, and an upstream device. The workstations are established within a predetermined area, and each workstation includes a substantially horizontal surface having an upper side and a lower side. A presence sensor is positioned at the lower side of each workstation and detects a potential occupancy proximate an underside area below the lower side. A workstation transmitter is positioned at each workstation and coupled to the presence sensor and transmits an occupancy signal based on the potential occupancy detected by the presence sensor. The mobile device is situated within the predetermined area and detects the occupancy signal transmitted by the workstation transmitter and transmits a check-in signal based on the occupancy signal. The upstream device communicates with the mobile device and associates a target workstation with the mobile device based on the check-in signal.

There are disclosed systems and methods for managing object configurations within a structure. For one embodiment, a fixed object profile including dimensions and locations of ventilation of a building space and a non-fixed object profile including dimensions and a location of a non-fixed object are identified. One or more contaminant risk locations of the building space are determined in response to determining the air flow within the building space associated with an HVAC unit. The air flow is determined based on incoming air flow streams to the building space and outgoing air flow streams away from the building space. One or more object positions are provided at an output device based on the contaminant risk location(s). For another embodiment, the contaminant risk location(s) are selected from possible people locations. A person position is displayed at an output device, in proximity to the building space, based on the contaminant risk location(s).

Systems and methods for managing object configurations within a structure

An apparatuses, methods and systems for a desktop occupancy sensing device are disclosed. One desktop apparatus includes an occupancy sensor, a charging interface, a controller, and a structure. The occupancy sensor operates to sense occupancy proximate to the desktop apparatus. The controller operates to determine occupancy of a desktop based on the sensed occupation, and the controller operates to communicate the determined occupancy to an upstream network. The occupancy sensor, the charging interface, and an interface to the upstream network are disposed within the structure as a single unit, and the structure is adapted to be placed on or affixed to the desktop.

There is described a system for tracking beacon tags comprising a communication component and a processor. The communication component receives a beacon from a beacon tag and transmit an acknowledgment of the beacon. The processor identifies a tag characteristic associated with the beacon tag and generates a tag instruction based on the tag characteristic. The tag instruction includes a beaconing rate for the beacon tag, and the acknowledgment includes the tag instruction. There is also described a beacon tag for operating with a tracking system comprising a communication component and a processor. The communication component transmits a first beacon, receive an acknowledgment associated with the beacon, and transmit a second beacon from the beacon tag based on an adjusted beaconing rate. The processor identifies a tag instruction of the acknowledgment and adjusts the beaconing rate of the beacon tag based on the tag instruction.

System and method for tracking low powered beacon tags

There is described a system, method, and medium for managing a group of radio frequency (RF) sensors. The system comprising a first sensor, a second sensor and an upstream device. A sensor management system comprises a first sensor, a second sensor, and an upstream device. The first sensor is positioned at a first location and transmits a wireless signal. The second sensor is positioned at a second location and detects the wireless signal. The first and second locations of the first and second sensors correspond to an expected wireless signal of the first sensor. The upstream device performs an action in response to determining that a difference between the detected wireless signal and the expected wireless signal exceeds a predetermined threshold.

Apparatuses, methods, and systems for estimating a location of a tag are disclosed. One method includes identifying a physical shape of a structure or characteristics of the structure, sensing a condition of the structure, generating a first set of weighted likelihoods based on the physical shape of the structure or characteristics of the structure, wherein the first set of weighted likelihoods includes a weighted likelihood of the tag being at each one of a plurality of grid points within the structure, generating a second set of weighted likelihoods based on the sensed condition of the structure, wherein the second set of weighted likelihoods includes a weighted likelihood of the tag being at each one of the plurality of grid points, generating a combined set of likelihoods based on the first set of weighted likelihoods and the second set of weighted likelihoods, and estimating a location of the tag based on the combined set of likelihoods.

Apparatuses, methods, and systems for estimating a location of a tag are disclosed. One method includes sensing a first condition of a structure, sensing a second condition of the structure, generating a first set of weighted likelihoods based on the first sensed condition of the structure, wherein the first set of weighted likelihoods includes a weighted likelihood of the tag being at each one of a plurality of grid points within the structure, generating a second set of weighted likelihoods based on the second sensed condition of the structure, wherein the second set of weighted likelihoods includes a weighted likelihood of the tag being at each one of the plurality of grid points, generating a combined set of likelihoods based on the first set of weighted likelihoods and the second set of weighted likelihoods, and estimating a location of the tag based on the combined set of likelihoods.

There is described a building automation system for controlling illumination uniformly based on ambient light. Light sensors are distributed within an environment and detect ambient light levels of the environment. An energy manager receives the ambient light levels from the light sensors and determines a group light level based on the ambient light levels. Light sources are distributed within the environment and provide illumination uniformly based on the group light level.

Apparatuses, methods and systems for predicting a future state of a built environment with a sensor network are disclosed. One sensor network includes a plurality of sensors of a built environment and a controller. Each sensor is operative to generate a sense signal. The controller is operative to collect sense values that represent sense signals of the plurality of sensors, wherein the sense values are collected over time, classify each of the collected sense values based on a type of space of the built environment associated with a corresponding one of the plurality of sensors that generated the sense value, based on a timing of the sense value, and based on other available information of the built environment, predict a future state of each of the plurality of sensors based at least in part on the classifications of each of the sense values, and communicate the future state.

There is described a lighting control system of a building environment comprising a control device and a lighting device. The control device is capable of detecting an activation of a configuration mode of the lighting control system and controlling illumination for the building environment in response to command inputs received at a user interface. The lighting device is capable of receiving a message indicating that the activation of the configuration mode has been detected by the control device and receiving a directional signal from a directional device subsequent to receiving the message. A membership status of the lighting device in a device group is changed in response to receiving the directional signal.

An apparatuses, methods, and systems for a distributed network of a structure that provides location-based human interaction and intelligent use of the structure are disclosed. The distributed network includes wireless transceivers, sensors, asset tags, and a controller electronically connected to the wireless transceivers, the sensors and the asset tags. At least one wireless transceiver is operative to transmit time-based tokens through a low-power first network, wherein the low-power first network includes the plurality of wireless transceivers. The controller is operative to receive modified time-based tokens from a mobile device or at least one of the plurality of asset tags through a second network, wherein the modified time-based tokens include identification information of the mobile device or the at least one asset tag that has been appended to the time-base tokens, and perform location-based intelligence based on the identification information and the time-based tokens.
