The present disclosure includes a method for creating a masking curve for an ultrasonic or radar-based fill level measuring device. A measuring signal is transmitted, a measurement curve is recorded based on the reflected measuring signal, and at least two greatest maxima are ascertained from the measurement curve. The at least two ascertained maxima are normalized with reference to the greatest maximum and one of the normalized maxima is assigned to the fill level, so that the masking curve can be created based on the measurement curve in at least one subrange between the fill level measuring device and the maximum of the fill level value. Because of the normalization of the maxima, the danger of mistake in the assignment can be lessened, so that the assignment and subsequent fill level measurements are reliable.

Method for generating a masking curve for a fill state measuring device

Disclosed is a method for starting-up by means of a service unit a field device of automation technology mounted on a component, especially a container, at a measuring location, wherein the service unit has a display unit and a camera, comprising: identifying the field device by means of the service unit; based on the identifying of the field device, ascertaining parameters of the field device to be set; registering geometry data of at least a part of the component by means of the camera; analyzing the registered geometry and, by means of the analyzing of the registered geometry, deriving at least one parameter value for at least one of the parameters to be set; confirming the calculated parameter value; and transferring the confirmed parameter value into the field device and storing the parameter value in the field device.

Method for starting up a field device in a simplified manner

Disclosed is a method for starting-up using a service unit a field device of automation technology mounted on a container at a measuring location, wherein the service unit has a display unit and a camera, comprising: identifying the field device using the service unit; showing on the display unit at least one parameter to be set, wherein the at least one parameter to be set is ascertained based on the identifying of the field device, showing on the display unit the field of view of the operator, and showing at least one virtual symbol superimposed on the field of view shown on the display unit; selecting at least one predetermined parameter value, or inputting at least one parameter value; confirming the selected, or input, parameter value, and transferring the confirmed parameter value into the field device.

The present disclosure includes a method and a system for remote-controlled servicing of a field device of process automation, including establishing a communication connection between a service unit and the field device via a first network, sending via a second network an access request from a computer unit to an application program executed on the service unit, wherein the application program serves for servicing the field device, approving the access request via the application program, and establishing access of the computer unit to the application program via the second network upon approval of the access request, wherein, after established access, the servicing of the field device occurs from the computer unit.
