In one example, a method performed by a processing system including at least one processor includes establishing a communication group including at least three users of an extended reality environment as members, tracking locations and directional positions of the members of the communication group within the extended reality environment and within physical environments of the members, determining that a second user of the at least three users is an intended recipient of a first utterance made by a first user of the at least three users, and presenting the first utterance to the second user, where a directionality associated with a presentation of the first utterance is based on a location and a directional position of the first user relative to the second user, and presenting a spatial awareness warning to the second user, based on the location and the directional position of the second user.

Managing directed personal immersions in a communication group via awareness warning based on location and directional position

Disclosed is managing (creating and maintaining) attendance/participation data describing remote attendance of attendees of an event, or a replay of the event. The event can be a virtual reality event. When a remote user attends an event, subsequent viewers of the event replay can see a digital representation (e.g., an avatar) of the remote user within the replay as having attended the event in-person. Subsequent replays include digital representations of the remote user and the user(s) that viewed previously replay(s) to emulate their attendance. User can manage their own attendance data, including to obtain proof of attendance. A user can delete his or her presence at an event, such that replays after the deletion do not include that user's representation. A user can go anonymous with respect to an event, such that any replays after the anonymity choice include only a generic representation of the attendee.

Participant attendance management at events including virtual reality events

A network processing system obtains a viewport of a client device for volumetric video and a two-dimensional (2D) subframe of a frame of volumetric video is obtained associated with the viewport. Viewports may be obtained from the client device or be predicted. 2D subframes and reduced resolution versions of frames can be transmitted to the client device. A client device may request volumetric video from the network processing system and provides a viewport to the network processing system. The client device may obtain from the network processing system reduced resolution versions of volumetric video frames and 2D subframes in accordance with the viewport. The client device may determine whether a current viewport matches the viewport associated with the obtained 2D subframe and provides a display based on either that subframe (upon a match) or a 2D perspective of the reduced resolution frame associated with the current viewport (if no match).

Processing system for streaming volumetric video to a client device

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, capturing a first depiction of an exhibit environment, wherein the first depiction of the exhibit environment comprises an image of at least one artifact and an image of at least one interface element, and wherein the at least one interface element is located in the exhibit environment at a first location relative to the at least one artifact; obtaining a first user profile of a first user, wherein the first user profile comprises at least one first preference of the first user, and wherein the first user is located in a first remote environment; and facilitating a presenting of a first modified version of the first depiction of the exhibit environment in the first remote environment, wherein the first modified version moves the image of the at least one interface element to a second location relative to the at least one artifact, wherein the second location is different than the first location, and wherein the second location is selected based upon the first preference of the first user. System and method for social immersive content rendering

In one example, a method includes instructing a mobile device of a user to establish a connection with an application server via a first network slice, where the first network slice is configured based on an initial resource need of a network connected application executing on the mobile device and an initial set of network conditions, sending, to the mobile device, a prediction of at least one network condition for the first network slice at a time in the future, receiving, from the mobile device, an indication of an updated resource need of the network connected application, and providing, to the mobile device, instructions for establishing a connection to the application server over a second network slice, where the second network slice is configured based on the updated resource need and a current set of network conditions.

Quality of experience optimization to meet variable network demands

The disclosed technology is directed towards determining that information of interest, corresponding to as a meaningful event, is available to be captured and saved, and capturing the information. When an event is determined to satisfy a defined meaningful event likelihood criterion, sensor data (which can include media data), time data and location data are collected and associated with the meaningful event, e.g., in a data store. A presentation/package is generated from the various data, and maintained for subsequent access, e.g., for sending to a recipient. The presentation can include annotation data. The present disclosure describes a device, computer-readable medium, and method for providing logistical support for robots. In one example, the method includes receiving, at a centralized support center that is in communication with a plurality of robots, a query from a first robot of the plurality of robots that has been deployed to perform a task, wherein the query indicates an error encountered by the first robot and evidence of the error collected by the first robot, formulating, at the centralized support center, a proposed solution to resolve the error, wherein the formulating comprises soliciting an analysis of the evidence by a party other than the first robot, and delivering, by the centralized support center, the proposed solution to the first robot.

Providing logistical support for robots

The disclosed technology is directed towards inserting user-personalized or other user-related supplementary media content into primary media content being presented to the user. The personalized media content can be inserted into available insertion slots associated with the primary media content. The inserted content is based on the context of the primary media, e.g., a location or theme of a movie scene. For example, upon obtaining primary media content that is video, supplementary media content related to a group of frames of the primary media content can be determined. Supplementary media content is combined with the primary media content at a presentation position associated with the group of frames to output modified media content. For a video, for example, the supplementary content can be inserted between scenes, overlaid onto a scene, or presented proximate a scene.
