A method for forming a glossy image comprising: using (A) a heat transfer sheet comprising a substrate, a light-heat conversion layer and an image forming layer in this order, wherein the light-heat conversion layer comprises a polyamide-imide resin, and the image forming layer comprises at least one of tabular inorganic compound particles and metal particles and a thixotropic agent, (B) a heat transfer sheet comprising a substrate, a light-heat conversion layer and an image forming layer in this order, wherein the light-heat conversion layer comprises a polyamide-imide resin, and the image forming layer comprises a transparent colorant, and (C) an image receiving sheet comprising an image receiving layer; and imagewise transferring the image forming layer of each of the heat transfer sheet (A) and the heat transfer sheet (B) to the image receiving layer by laser thermal transfer.

An image forming device having a rotating drum around which an image forming material is trained, an ink sheet conveying mechanism which conveys an ink sheet synchronously with rotation of the rotating drum, an ink transfer device which fits the image forming material and the ink sheet together and effects either heating or pressing such that ink is transferred onto the image forming material, and a fitting/conveying device which moves an image receiving material with respect to a peripheral surface of the rotating drum synchronously with the rotation of the rotating drum and which fits the image forming material and the image receiving material together and applies either a predetermined pressure or a predetermined temperature so that ink is transferred from the image forming material to the image receiving material; and an image forming method including above-described processes. Exposure need be effected only once for each color, and the image forming materials can be used repeatedly. Therefore, a plurality of color proofs can be prepared from a single original plate, and time involved in preparing the color proofs can be reduced.

Image forming device and method for transferring ink using a heated

Disclosed is an image forming process employing a light-sensitive image forming material and a developing solution. The image forming material comprises a support and either a light-sensitive resin layer containing a pigment or a colorant layer containing a pigment and a light-sensitive resin layer, superposed in order. The process comprises the steps of imagewise exposing the image forming material to light and developing the material by the use of an alkaline developing solution containing at least one of compounds having the following formula (1): ##STR1## wherein each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 independently represents hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms which may be substituted or an aryl group which may be substituted, M.sup.1 represents hydrogen, potassium or an ammonium group, Y represents hydrogen or --SO.sub.3 M.sub.2 (in which M.sup.2 represents sodium, potassium or an ammonium group and M.sup.2 may be the same as or different from M.sup.1) and n represents a number in the range of 1 to 1000; to form an image on the support.

Image forming process

An image-forming process comprises the steps of: forming an ink-receiving area and an ink-repelling area on a light-sensitive material by imagewise exposure; pressing on the ink-receiving area and ink-repelling area of the material an ink sheet comprising a support and an ink layer composed of a colorant and a polymer binder; removing the ink sheet from the material so that the ink layer of the ink sheet is transferred only onto the ink-receiving area of the material; pressing an image receiving sheet on the ink-receiving area having the ink layer and the ink-repelling layer of the material; and separating the image receiving sheet from the material so that the ink layer in the ink-receiving area is transferred onto the image receiving sheet. A similar image-forming process using a resist ink sheet is also disclosed.

Image-forming process

Disclosed is an image forming process employing a light-sensitive image forming material and a developing solution. The image forming material comprises a support, a peel layer and a light-sensitive resin layer containing a pigment having an anionic group, superposed in order. The process comprises the steps of imagewise exposing the image forming material to light and developing the material by the use of a developing solution having a polymer having the following recurring unit (A): ##STR1## such as poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) to form an image on the peel layer.

The photosensitive transfer material of the invention comprises a support, a subbing layer comprising an organic polymer and an image-forming layer containing a photosensitive polymer, wherein the subbing layer and/or the image-forming layer contains a matting agent of core-shell type crosslinked resin particles consisting of a core part made of a polymer having a crosslinking degree of 0.05 to 3.0 mmole/g and a shell part made of a substantially linear polymer having at least one kind of a hydrophilic functional group.

Photosensitive transfer material

An image-receiving sheet element comprising an image-receiving layer provided on a flexible substrate and a removable cover sheet, wherein said cover sheet comprises a low density copolymer containing 30% by weight or more of a linear polyethylene, is described. This image-receiving sheet element shows improved slip properties and a good workability, and little deterioration in transfer properties upon prolonged storage. Furthermore, it scarcely suffers from any caused by static electricity when the cover sheet is peeled off from the image-receiving sheet.
